Just seen the matinee and Clare was off. Jo Riding did a splendid rendition of The Ladies Who Lunch.
Is there a list of who usually Sings what online, as it's my first time seeing the show and I want to remember who sang what, and the changes due to Clare being off ... Thanks

Clare would normally also do The Little Things You Do Together with Gavin and play Electra in Gimmick.
Interesting Jo is doing Ladies Who Lunch, as Janie did it when Clare was off earlier in the run!

Janie did the duet with Gavin. I couldn't work out who did Gimmick with Bernadette - I didn't recognise the performers due to the wigs! What a great show though.

So Monique did YCDAPC in place of Janie, Gimmick in place of Clare, and in the ensemble parts she did Clare’s part whilst Bella did hers.
The little things you do together…- usually one of my favourite numbers, it doesn’t have a massive vocal demand but even then Janie did not sound very strong nor was the acting as good as Clare. Which is completely fair enough given the circumstances. I’ve also been wondering - how has Janie had such a musical career with such a limited vocal range? She is a PHENOMENAL actress but vocally… she has established herself now but I wonder how she made it in the beginning of her career with a somewhat ‘average’ voice? She also almost forgot the words in that song AND a Weekend In the Country which is her regular song. You wouldn’t have noticed though unless you’ve been a million times like me hahaha.
Jo’s LWL. Wow. I think hers was as strong as Clare at her best to be honest, but different takes. Clare’s is more drunk with a hint of bitterness, Jo’s was way more ANGRY and bitter. Moments that made me laugh: when she sang ‘does anybody still wear a hat?!?’ She was pretending to scan the audience to see who was wearing one, ‘spots’ someone, points at them then sings ‘I’ll drink to that’. Also on the ‘a little jest’ line she interpreted it as cocaine and itched her nose. I DIED. 10/10 no notes. I also love the gravitas and weightyness of Clare’s vocal here too though. To think that this song was initially given to Janie to cover is just… dumb? Can’t imagine how stressful that would’ve been for her last time.
Monique is also a star. She was vocally on point and in YCDAPC her dancing, characterisation and energy was brill. I’m glad she has gotten to do more than be in the back. She’s just as good as the older ones.
I hadn’t see the show since Bernie was sick, so I’m relieved her voice has returned to normal. The fact that she was cracking so much last time meant that she was very ill. I have even more admiration for her.
Gosh I’ll be sad when this show closes. My last remark would be, I’ve never been to the show with so many empty seats as there were today which made me sad . People should be flocking to see it before it’s done

I would pay big money for another gala where they all pick out of a hat who sings each song right before they perform 😝🧐 they could all do it for sureeee. Wouldn’t that be fun ??

People should be flocking to see it before it’s done Thank you for your report! Sad to hear about the number of empty seats. I went on Thursday evening and the grand circle was open unlike my first visit on a Tuesday early last month. I would have thought the final big weekend in London before people start leaving for Christmas would have pulled in more people. I must agree that Bernadette’s voice was back up to scratch on Thursday as well. Her LMM was incredible. Obviously she is acting but the amount of emotion she brings - along with some tears - means you can’t help but think of her own personal loss at the same time. She is pure star!

I checked yesterday. Plenty of empty seats but no discount even 30 minutes before start time. Silly. I would have loved to go specially with those changes.

FINALLY got around to seeing this - got a good dynamically priced ticket and gutted I waited so long! What can I say that hasn’t already been said.? Bloody brilliant! Might write more later - but for now an easy 5*’s. Smiled all the way through and the cast (and terrific band) were having a blast. Really enjoyed this.

The ushers will check if no one is sitting there and let you. There are so many empty seats thru will hardly say no

I saw yesterday afternoon’s matinee performance too and agree about Joanna Riding’s performance of ‘Ladies Who Lunch’ - it was stunning!
Funnily enough, though I enjoyed seeing Lea and Bernadette, it was definitely others who received the biggest applause. In addition to Riding’s LWL, Bonnie Langford’s ‘I’m Still Here’, Riding’s ‘Not Getting Married’ and, somewhat ironically (or so it would seem on this messageboard), Pennycooke’s ‘Buddy’s Blues’ easily won the biggest applause (and deservedly!) For me personally, those were the highlights too (along with ‘Broadway Baby’).
Bernadette, as has been mentioned by others, is slightly ‘fragile’ vocally, although I enjoyed her version of ‘Send in the Clowns’. In ‘Gimmick’, she is charming, but is vocally ‘carried’ by the other two performers. She is loved by virtue of her legendary status more than her actual performance here, but it is still a treat to see her on stage.
Lea Salonga was pretty good in the ‘Sweeney’ and ‘Gypsy’ sections. She sang with greater ‘rawness of character’ than I’ve seen before (which is a good thing). However, and I know I’ll be ‘shouted down’ for this, I do wish she would moderate the level of vibrato in her voice; for me, it has become ‘too much’.
I enjoyed the performance very much, but like I said, it was often not the two headliners who got the biggest applause. Other performers seemed to be winners with the audience.

Enjoyed a second visit last night. Just superb. Sat dress circle row c- enjoyed show even more from here versus mid stalls last time round. Every performance stellar, both technically and emotionally. Delighted my Sondheim hating partner loved it too! A Christmas miracle!

God. It’s starting to hit me that we’re in the final weeks. I’m still planning to go another 3 times including the closing. But this was truly a once in a lifetime event!!

Somebody who gets it 😭😭 I’m going to try and go once more before closing night- which I’m simultaneously dreading and lllking foward to because it will be ELECTRIC. But I will be in mourning when it’s over.

This show is discounted at every performance at both TodayTix and Tkts but peculiarly enough not at the Box Office as I discovered last Thursday where I was advised to go online when I called

Attended this wonderful show for the second time this afternoon and all I can say is ... sheer class! I'm not a Sondheim connoisseur (unlike so many on this board), but oh boy I had goosebumps several times over. I wish I could go again, but sadly this was my final visit. So many performances will stay in my mind for a long time.

At the show tonight. Bernadette was in EXCELLENT voice. Only unusual thing is she didn’t do the final dance and ending of Broadway Baby. They made it seem like her character had enough and walked off the stage. Young ensemble member was in her place.

I was in on Tuesday night and noticed she had a knee-support thing on under her dress, I guess she must have a minor injury. She keeps going though, legend!
