Jason Pennycooke does Live Alone and Like It in act one. Interesting! I've not attended this show so can't comment bit I did attend the Gala event last year at the Sondheim theatre. Whilst I don't have problem with any of the sings from Dick Tracy (I love What Can You Lose) my understanding is that the songs are from shows produced by Cameron Mackintosh. To the best of my knowledge there has never been a stage show based upon the Dick Tracy film, using the Sondheim songs. So, regardless of how god these songs are, if they've not been in show produced by Cameron Mackintosh, then aren't they out of place in this? The three songs I know from Dick Tracey are More, Sooner Or Later and the previously mentioned What Can You Loose. Just googled it out of curiosity and there's a clip of John Barrowman doing it in Putting It Together.

What Dick Tracy song? Can't remember one being sung when I attended. Jason Pennycooke does Live Alone and Like It in act one. Thanks. I guess I was thinking of Madonna's songs. Janie Dee sang Sooner or Later at the Sondheim concert at Cadogan Hall dressed as Snowhite (from Vanya &Sonia...). Hilarious and sexy.

Has anyone heard Bernadette Peters sing Sooner or Later?
I have the CD of her Carnagie Hall concert. The whole second act is dedicated to Sondheim.
When she goes to sing Sooner or Later she says something along the lines of 'this song was from a movie that was out a couple of summers ago. It was based on a comic strip called Dick! Dick Tracey! And in the film this song was sung by a blonde bombshell- not me. Though we both have religious names.....'

It was a fantastic evening but apparently only men were allowed at the concert as I didn't see a single woman there 😀

You can find it in the usual places * featuring la Barrowmam singing Buddy's Blues I remember seeing it years ago at The Odeon Leicester Square. If I remember rightly it was advertised as one of the first recordings in HD. Also had Carol Burnett, Ruthie Henshall. I think Julie Andrews also did it on Broadway. Also had a video some years ago with some outtakes at the end and there is a very funny bit where Carol Burnett's underskirt falls down on stage. At the Odeon viewing we were also treated to a concert by the Wurlitzer organ which came up from under the floor. It was wonderful.

Anyone know how the “co-star alternates” work for this? Tonight it said Harry Apps was on, but he wasn’t. I think the other three were.

It is good but I wish they've recorded the original production with Julie Andrews and Rachel York. Not a fan of Barrowman.

I think the cast board lists Harry and Bella as being on even though they're technically off stage swings. But it'll remove the 'star' names from the board if they aren't on e.g. when Jac Yarrow was off and Harry was covering for him, Jac's name wasn't on the board.

Caught Thursday's matinee. Whilst I'm not a Sondheim connoisseur, I thought this was wonderful. It was sheer class. I've seen several shows in a (for me) short space of time, and this is the one that has stayed with me. If I can get another discounted ticket later in the run, I will be back.

Any word on the cast recording being released? I would've thought they'd be selling it by now at the theatre

It was released twice on Spotify and both times I heard it before it got pulled. From what I heard I thought it sounded great. So could it be a rights issue, but I haven't a foggy

The cast list from last Satuday night, no Harry and we had 17 on stage performers -

Has anyone had luck with rush tickets? What sort of seats are offered? I rushed it the first week, seats were all over the place. All three levels, seemed to be topped up throughout the day, however it was much easier to get a pair than a single (I guess they have a 'no single seats left' policy?)

Jac Yarrow off again huh? That picture is from last Saturday so the week of performances he missed before coming back for press night, he’s not been off again since.

Other than TodayTix digital rush and the TKTS booth, are there any other ways to buy a discounted ticket, preferably in advance?

I thought the show was amazing. To actually see Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga in front of me was incredible.

Just got a rush ticket for tonight, mid row L in the stalls, £29.50.
So it appears that some singles are available on Rush...
So excited as a huge Sondheim fan...
Does anyone know how I might found out if Ms. Peters performing this evening?

I'm maybe wrong but I thought Saint Bernadette was scheduled for all performances. There is a twitter account (cant remeber the name though) about west end understudys that maybe able to confirm if someone is going on instead
- I hope you enjoy the show!
