Part of me was hoping we'd get Joanna doing Losing My Mind because I loved her so much in Follies but I am not sorry AT ALL I'll be only a few feet away from Bernadette performing it. I'm really hoping Joanna's doing more than the couple of trios she mentioned though.
Gosh I love Julia McKenzie. What a lovely read. Think I'd be in agreement with you, mrbarnaby. Regularly find myself lost in a YouTube wormhole of her performances.

Thanks for sharing the video. I didn't know that Julie MacKenzie is in the cast. Loved her in Sweeney and Follies. It will also be nice to see Ms. Peters on stage. She lives up the street from me, and I see her walking her dog, but I haven't seen her on stage in yonks.

But I'm secretly hoping she might make a guest appearance.

Isn't Julia co-directing rather than performing?

I wish there were more footage of the OLC of Into The Woods. McKenzie was sublime, as were the whole cast. That tiny little witches hat, at a jaunty angle was perfection.

Anyone here go to the dress yesterday or hear anything about it? Have only seen a couple of photos of the stage on Instagram but can't wait to find out who's singing what.

Can’t wait to see this tonight, as one member couldn’t make tonight, we opted for a refund & brought new tickets.
This was back on the 7th and still awaiting them to refund us, we have spoken to them and we are expecting the refund either today or tomorrow (have a feeling another call will be needed!!).
Anyways, I can’t wait for some Sondheim magic at the opening preview!!

£29.50 rush on TodayTix. I imagine these will be very competitive, atleast initially.

Anyone going, please report on the orchestra size. Dying to see how much Cameron has reduced it while charging such expensive tickets. Also, are there no house programmes available? I´ve seen the merch preorder site and only lists a brochure for 12 pounds.

I’m here, I somehow had forgotten that this was the first preview! How exciting, never been to a first night before. Explains why they almost had to stop to wait for applause when they first came on!
Interval o’clock…..WOW…..Lea Salonga and Bradley Jaden absolute standouts so far, every time they open their mouths. Jeremy Secomb’s Sweeney Todd was literally awesome as well. Bernadette Peters’ Send In The Clowns was her best moment so far, I’ll reserve judgement for her to see what she does in Act 2 (fingers crossed for Roses!). Also the few lines Jac Yarrow has had confirms I would love to see him in anything other than Joseph! Damian Humbley’s few bits have been fab as well.
Right gonna eat my sorbet and settle in for part 2. So far I definitely want to revisit. If this is first night, I can’t wait to see once they settle in.

Wow this is much better than the concert. Word of mouth might save this excellent show after all. Incredible.

How exciting! Fuming I didn't book sooner. Have to wait nearly two weeks now. But wow, the contrast of these couple of short reviews to the comments in the Sunset thread could not be more stark.

I’m avoiding the Sunset thread from now on then, seeing that next week!
On the way out now. WOW. Not ashamed to say the whole company singing Being Alive got tears from me.
I’ll have to wait until later to write a proper review. But blown away right now.
Bonnie Langford absolutely bought the house down with I’m Still Here
The WSS segment….can I say wow again?
Seriously, go and see this, everyone.

Oh, I'm sorry! I foolishly didn't think. I'll edit my comment then. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone! But you have me very exited for this now. I was worried the first reactions would be it not holding up to the concert/BBC broadcast. So glad that doesn't seem to be the cast. Edit: Can't edit previous comment re Sunset so if mods want to get rid of that one for me, feel free.

Is there a copy of the full setlist in the programme? It's exactly the same set list as the gala

The performances are better. Bernadette sings clowns, Lea salonga gives one of the most stunning coming up roses I’ve heard. The whole show is much more polished and better sung this time. Michael Ball and Cameron Mackintosh’s personalities have left the stage this time allowing the focus on the other performers and material hehe.

Who's doing Loving You and Could I Leave You now Michael's gone?

Lea salonga does loving you and practically stops the show with her stunning voice. Gavin Lee did could I leave you? Felt authentically gay.
