Had been excited for ages to see this, and hate to say that I was left slightly disappointed.
I love everything that Charlie Stemp does, and his performance here was no exception - he was outstanding. I do have to say I actually think his performance in Half a Sixpence was maybe slightly stronger, but he obviously gets far more opportunity to show off his absolutely incredible dancing here, so that's a huge bonus. I also thought Carly Anderson was very strong too.
There are a few standout song and dance numbers, I got Rhythm being the standout obviously, and these really helped pick up the show.
But overall I found the show a bit uninteresting. It definitely dragged in places, and other than I think 3 songs in the show, I couldn't remember any others on the journey home.
There have been so many comparisons to shows like Anything goes, and I guess because that's the most similar scale and recent production of this kind in London. I saw Anything goes 6 times, loved every single second of it. But unfortunately I can't really see myself going back to this.
Very glad I saw it, some stand out performances and numbers, but overall I think it wasn't consistent enough in its high standard. 3 stars for me.

I want to go see this show but don’t want to spend a fortune. Has anyone sat in the side seats? I’m looking at row I - maybe around 5/6 seats in? They come us as restricted on some sites but not on others. When do you want to go? I have two tickets for tonight that I got in the lottery. I can't make it due to illness. They are £75 face value in the stalls but I paid £20 a ticket. You are welcome to them for whatever you can afford or think is reasonable.

Thanks again though, the offer is appreciated! x Everyone seems to be a winner in the lottery at the moment - I'd enter that and wait for the email to book on Monday or Friday - one lets you book for performances across the next four weeks, and the other for the next week only. I can't remember which is which.

I would prefer someone make use of them at the discounted rate & - so if anyone else is interested, they are for R. I hope you enjoy it when you do go!

Anybody wanting to see this really should enter the ticket lottery. I entered it last week after reading about it on here.
Then forgot about it 🤦🏻♂️
But even so, when I did eventually see the email (three hours late) there was still plenty of availability, including the day I wanted to go on. Middle of the front row on a Saturday matinee for £30, looks like it’s usually £75. Some a few rows further back were only £20.

I've just signed up for the lottery & the confirmation email says you get re-entered automatically 4 times before having to re-sign up. Has anyone worked out if, given their are 2 draws per week, that's 4 draws or 4 weeks you are automatically re-entered for? I don't actually want to go until 2nd August, as that's the next time I have a free matinee slot on a day CFY has a matinee. so would want the lottery on 28th July. That is 2 and a half weeks and 5 draws away, if I've calculated correctly, hence knowing if I'll need to re-enter or if it'll be covered by my entry today would be useful. Worried I have signed up too soon & will get offered tickets for when I don't want to go, then won't be able to get a ticket for when I actually do want to go.

It's for 4 weeks, 8 draws if you select Monday & Friday draws, 4 draws if you select just Mondays or just Fridays. You get an emial to sign up again if you don't purchase within the initial 4 weeks of draws.
Today's link gave me access to performances from 17th July to 5th August. Fridays draw will be for next week only. Next Mondays will give access to 24th July to 12th Aug if it follows the same logic.
It looks like everyone is getting sent a link at present, but that might change depending on sign ups I guess. I've received a link every week so far! Wanting to go at the end of August so keeping an eye on the availability each week. It's definitely showing fewer seats than before it opened.

It’s easy to re-sign up, and at the moment I (and most others going by this forum) are receiving the email every Mon and Fri. I’m not sure if they’re counting it as 4 weeks or 4 draws, but don’t worry if it turns out to be the 4 draws - just keep an eye on what the emails are saying and re-sign up if you need to.

Despite thinking it could have lost a few songs, (ballads!) I've given this 5 stars.
Charlie Stemp was incredible, it was like he lived the role. Unbelievable, he should win every award going.

Am seeing this on Friday, so great to read such a positive review. I’m there Friday night too, can’t wait to see it based on so many 5 star reviews from Theatreboard members. I thought Charlie was a wonderful Bert (and will never forget his acrobatics in Step In Time!) so very much looking forward to catching him in this too.

Got mine from someone working at the Gillian Lynne Ahh ok thanks. You can certainly tell it's being very heavily papered as the seating plans go from barely anything sold to almost sold out overnight for performances in next couple of weeks.... Anyway, trying my luck in the lottery.

I find it strange that there's no dynamic pricing on the website. If the reviews and positive WOM would make me think "I'll go and catch it this week" and then go to the website, I just very expensive seats that would put me right off.
It's all fine and well to help insiders who know their way around papering and lotteries and whatnot, but why not lower the official prices at least in the last days before the performance?
I'll be there on Thursday and so far it looks dire with lots of availability. I hope it will fill up!

Hi!
Apologies if this has been asked before but just wondering if anyone knew why a couple of seats in Row R of the Stalls are significantly cheaper than the ones next to them? They are £35 instead of £79.50.
Many thanks.
Helen :-)
