Would it be exactly like at Chichester though? I don’t know what South Pacific was like at Sadler’s Wells but it looked a lot smaller in Birmingham than it did in Chichester. Was quite cramped when they were all on stage together, and they didn’t go out into the auditorium at all either. Touring shows cannot easily go further into the house, think of the logistics of that for every date on tour when each venue is very different. |

Sounds like Mrs Doubtfire is about to announce very soon so it probably won't be the Shaftesbury. Gillian Lynne not free until June so a bit of a wait if it's there.

Stemp definitely is, not sure about the rest. Great to hear! Enjoyed Tom Edden's performance too, hope he transfers with it I agree. Stemp's infectious charm and energy, coupled with Edden's zaniness, just made them the most marvellous double act when they shared the stage.  |

Its almost a character or set piece in itself. |

If it really isn't the Savoy anymore ( shame as would be great fit) I guess that leaves Gillian Lynne, maybe Gielgud if it could fit or old vic if groundhog day isnt next year (ive heard conflicting on GD and they took in kiss me Kate from Chichester before)
Or something is about to announce closure

Thrilled about this - a sensation at Chich and fully deserves to be in the West End. Nice lengthy run, and into the next year of Oliviers to (I hope) finally get Stemp his deserving win.

This won’t be eligible until the 2024 Oliviers, and then he’ll have whoever is playing MJ to contend with, rumoured to be Myles Frost repeating his (Tony award winning) performance. |
