I may have been living under a rock, but did anyone else know that if you upload photos of the stage view from your seat to Seatplan and give a short review, you earn points to be redeemed for Theatre Tokens? I've missed out on so many! 🤣🤣🤣 but I'm so starting from this week! seatplan.com/rewards/

I thought I had a handle on basically every rewards scheme, I can't believe this one passed me by!

I think that historically people have not been talking a lot about it on here because it is the only rival of TheatreMonkey (and has the advantage of actual pictures of the view from the seat)

I still use Theatremonkey as the advice on there is so good, but yeah, photos do massively help 😀

I must have had at least £200 of vouchers from Seatplan. Really great website.

Seems to have been a change since yesterday. No more double points and a new scale of rewards.

that doesn't make sense though, surely the same seat doesn't give the same view for every single show staged in that theatre

They've also stopped doing Theatre Tokens as rewards which is mainly why I used to submit photos. Now if you get a Seatplan voucher you can only book tickets through a specific URL where tickets are not included in any offers on the main site. E.g. I wanted to book some tickets for 'As Good Friends Do' which were £15 on that main Seatplan site but £25 each on the link where you claim the reward, so it was basically pointless.

They do have some really good availability at the moment with the London Theatre Week discounts. I used my last voucher for a £30 stalls ticket for Shirley Valentine and was very happy considering it was technically “free”

The requirement for 150 points is submitting either the first or second photos of a seat. I really don't imagine there are many seats with fewer than two photos, so unless the count resets per production (which I doubt) it feels a bit misleading.

All feels like a classic 'to improve your experience we're making things worse' change, as being rolled out by many great British institutions at the moment.

I've never done this, likely missed out on some easy discounts.
Do they check you're reviewing the same seat you were booked in? The reason I ask is you could test out the seats with fewer than two reviews for at least long enough to take a photo (and get the bonus points).

On the olden days, before e-tickets, you had to send a second photo of your paper ticket. Presumably, you now have to attach a screenshot, or something?

No, I upload seat view photos quite regularly and not once have I been asked to send in any type of ticket proof. They’ve always just accepted the photo without question. Makes it very easy to get points but, on the other hand, I’m sure I’ve occasionally seen photos before which don’t look correct and have presumably been uploaded on the wrong seat. I’ve never done it but agree that you could just arrive early and snap some photos from several different seats and get points for each one.

They've modified it now so you do have to show a picture of your ticket in order to get maximum points. If you don't attach your ticket then you can only get 25 points even if your picture is the first for that seat.

Also appears that you need to select the show that you attended from the list, which appears to be an issue for any of the concerts at Theatre Royal Drury Lane as none of them were listed on SeatPlan.
Assuming you'll only be able to get the full points value for a seat if it's also a show that they will be/were selling tickets for.

Like the infamous TodayTix referral fees, this is now in the bin of historical good things, sadly.

Will be great to see if the seat counts reset with new productions, as the set design can make a real difference on peoples opinons of a seat.

I was annoyed that I'd got 25 points last week when I should have got 150. I will see if I can attach a scan of my ticket. I suppose that makes sense because I see a lot of reviews on there where the photo clearly hasn't been taken from the seat it's attached to, sometimes even from the other side of the theatre. I imagine it's a genuine mistake most times, but it undermines the whole purpose of seatplan if the reviews aren't accurate.

Has anyone managed to get more than 25 points under the new system? I posted one with a ticket photo to see if that was the issue after my 150 point photo only got 25. This one should have got 50 points, but again got 25. I can't see anything else I could have added. They haven't replied to my email asking about it, so I'm assuming there must be a lot of smallprint that effectively makes most seat reviews now worth 25 points whatever you do.
