Alex Lodge has posted that he's playing Henry between 4th and 6th December, if anyone wants to catch him in the role.
He's also posted the code TWWCAST for anyone looking for discounts.

Saw this last night and I thought that it was very good. The music did a great job of conveying the characters emotions and whilst the songs didn't move the plot along, they didn't need to, the dialogue did that well enough. It was a well paced show. The carousel scene transitions were an excellent choice. Both leads superb.
In contrast to some of the other reviews on here I wasn't a fan of the opening scene in act 2 I thought it was poorly done and a little unnecessary. I wasn't particularly close but could see far too much of the people dressed in all black moving him around, which was a shame because when this effect is done well it looks great.
This is definitely worth going to see, especially if you can get a ticket at a discount.
4/5

Every song in the musical should move the plot forward. If it doesn’t, it’s flawed. The big problem with pop song writers writing musicals is they’re very good at expressing the same emotion for five minutes, but the art of writing an integrated book musical is far deeper than that and sadly this show really is really let down by the very weak (albeit pretty) songs.

I disagree, the music doesn't always need to move the plot forwards, having songs that took the time to stay in the moment emotionally worked well for this show. FWIW I agree the best musicals out there do have songs that do both, but for this piece the music complimented the dialogue really well. I think we just have different ideas of how a musical should be able to look.

Felt pretty miffed yesterday that four of the featured actors were off including both leads. I know we’re always told that we’ve paid to see a show not any particular performer but we should have some option when such a significant proportion are unavailable.

Would agree if the show was sold on the actors’ names, but this one isn’t.

The leads miss far too many performances of this. It’s a tough sing but Nicole shows up. She’s get 1 show off so maybe each lead should too in this. That way they show up for the rest.

Row C (front row) is now £15 on TodayTix for some performances which although restricted view does seem like a pretty great deal, just got one in the centre for next week.

I have booked to see this in January. Very curious. I went for Row F in the Stalls. Is this likely to be restricted?

Saw this yesterday on a Rush ticket, great view from Row P. I quite enjoyed it, certainly more than I was expecting based on some of the reviews here. The songs are probably the least strong aspect to it - some of them are really good, but many of them are just filling space and on occasion don't even really feel like they reflect what's happening in the plot, with the finale being a good example of that, with just generic 'love wins' lyrics that could have been from any show. Alexandra Doar on for Clare, who I thought was rather shrill in the first couple of scenes, but after that I really warmed to her and was very much engaged by her and the character.
Like many others, I felt the highlight was Journeyman at the start of act 2, and I was generally very impressed by the effects and the visual design throughout.
Glad I've seen it, it's a good show (if not a great one) - more than anything I just really enjoyed the story as it was told, with decent-ish songs supporting it.

We sat in row C last night, had originally booked B which was at the time the front row and were moved back one row when they decided to remove B. It is a high stage but no worse than several others and there's extra legroom. We arrived early as my partner is six inches shorter than me and the email moving us included the option to have different seats. Decided to remain in row C and glad we did. All that's missed from C are views of feet and some of a couple of short scenes where two characters are sitting on the floor. The special effects from there are very impressive.

Really glad I did that as I found it very enjoyable! Can’t go wrong with £15 Stalls anywhere but I’m glad they took out Row B, you can see the outline of where the chairs used to be and you really would have just been watching a black wall from there, alternatively with some severe neck pain to catch glimpses of the show, but from Row C it wasn’t too bad and nothing got completely missed. Both David and Joanna were on tonight and both did really well. The timeline of it all did confuse me a bit, you’ll have some scenes set in very specific years and others that are meant to be “x years earlier/later” but the details don’t match up at all, so I gave up trying to work that out by the end of act 1. I would like to go again and massive discounts do look very common at this stage so I hope it completes its current run.

Finally went to see for myself tonight, and good god this is a train wreck.
It's just...dreadfully boring on just about every aspect. The material is woeful, from the diabolical book to the spectacularly dull score (why was there a song where they sang the word spinning approximately 99 times?!) As a result, everyone in it is pretty poor too. There's not a single ounce of chemistry between Woodward and Hunter (in fact, Hunter looked annoyed to be at his own wedding!) and the lack of ANY spark just makes you not care about either of them. Woodward is I'm sure super talented, but is given nothing to showcase that with at all.
There was one trick I quite liked for about a second, but otherwise it's all verging on Bill Kenwrights tour of Ghost levels of effect really.
Lots of people left in the interval - I fully understood why. I stayed to the end as I thought it might get better and there is at least one good song in act 2. It's just wildly misconceived. There is a good-ish musical in there somewhere, but this isn't it by a long shot.

Now closing February 24th. Is this announced somewhere I received an email today from Nimax Theatres Customer Relations stating:
"We are writing to advise you that the strictly limited season run of The Time Travellers Wife at the Apollo Theatre will now end on Saturday 24th February 2024."

Wow you have to scroll back to find this thread!
I went on Saturday afternoon and was really disappointed, the songs are not memorable and I thought the time travel "magic" was poor: for example when Henry time travelled it just looked like he was having a fit then stood behind a conveniently placed screen or walked off with other characters trying to hide him!
I have never seen the film/TV series or read the book so I was going in without a knowledge of the tale but I felt it was bland and dragged and didn't keep me entertained and engaged.
With the team behind it and cast I was expecting to enjoy it. We didn't have David Hunter as Henry which was a shame as I have seen him in a few things, Alex Lodge was on. There was also no Tim Mahendran, on for the role of Gomez instead was Irfan Damani and I'm sorry to say he shouted his song.
I can see why it is closing!

I think this will do well on tour, to be honest. Solid IP and some writing names attached. Stick a stunt cast in it and it’ll be alright.

And herein lies the problem with UK Theatre. “Stick some stunt casting in and it’ll be alright”.
Get the songs rewritten by people that know what they’re doing and then it’ll be alright.
