Sondheim's 80th Birthday Celebration, recorded at the Albert Hall in 2010, will be on BBC4, 27TH December at 7pm.

Mary Poppins Returns.
Don't know the date but there was just a tiny little clip on BBC with stuff over Christmas.

Mary Poppins Returns. Don't know the date but there was just a tiny little clip on BBC with stuff over Christmas. Christmas day after the Boss' speech. Daytime on Boxing Day a couple of classics and then 'Talking Pictures, Marvelous Musicals' on BBC2 - www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000x2q2Disney's Beauty & the Beast (live action) is on Boxing day BBC1. Most of the musical concerts that have been circulating for the past few years now are available on Sky Arts again, Phantom at the Albert Hall, Cats (1998), Funny Girl, Billy Elliot, Miss Saigon, Les Mis. etc. There's a Comic Relief Panto which I guess will have a few attempts at songs in it; but not how good it'll be though. Not Musical Theatre, but Schubert's song cycle 'Winterreise' is getting a re-imagined on BBC4 Christmas Day too. |

Sky Arts has Phantom at the RAH, Cameron Mackintosh the first 50 Years and Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary performance. There are also several classic musical films on BBC2 and C5 in the daytime.
The filmed staging of Half a Sixpence finally gets a broadcast date - Weds 29th December on Sky Arts at 6:30 under the title Kipps.

Not strictly musicals but for any John Wilson Orchestra fans, Swingin’ Christmas their tv concert with Curtis Stigers, Seth MacFarlane and Anna-Jane Casey recorded at Christmas 2010 is on BBC4 Sunday 19th Dec at 19.50.

The Rob Marshall movie version is on BBC4 on 28th December, for what it's worth, but you'll have to stay up late for it (11:20pm) - or catch it on iPlayer afterwards.

They mean it's been put on YouTube by some rando. Thats correct but I don’t think we were allowed to use that websites name on the forum. Hence me being a bit cryptic. Not sure it's been posted by "some rando" as it's had 28k viewers and it's Digital Theatres recording. I used to have it and bought it from Digital Theatre but they changed their conditions and you had to pay a monthly subscription even though you had bought a copy so I didn't use them anymore. |

It’s perfectly fine to mention YouTube and to tell people about stuff that’s available there. What we ask is for people to be mindful of what videos they post here. Once the link is on TheatreBoard then we are hosting and sharing it and we don’t want to get into that. The YT algorithm gave me the OAT Into The Woods a couple of days ago, it’s the full production and the person who posted it is not an official source, you can tell by looking at their channel and the other stuff they've posted.
