I think this might be Taron Egerton's first play in quite some time. I imagine it'll be a hot ticket in such a small venue.

The Royal Court production of this with Ben Whishaw, Andrew Scott and Katherine Parkinson remains one of my all-time great theatrical experiences - I went for Whishaw but it was the first time I'd seen Scott and he was amazing.
This cast is quality. Intrigued to see how the parts are cast between Egerton and Bailey but I'm definitely in for this one.

Agree about the Royal Court production - with the Theatre Upstairs converted into a tiny gladiatorial arena. Ben Whishaw was the draw, Andrew Scott the revelation. According to Baz, Jonathan Bailey is playing John (the Whishaw) part.
Marvellous Idina Menzel/Kristin Chenoweth type billing!

Seeing brilliant performers like that in such close proximity was a huge treat & the play was fabulous. I remember being very close to Whishaw’s elbow. |

This is great casting of a terrific intense play and sure to be an impossible ticket, just as it was at the Royal Court. I do wonder how long the negotiation for that billing took.No matter - they're both terrific actors.

It is showing on the main ATG website. Initial dates are 5 March to 5 June 2022. Monday to Saturday at 8pm. Thursday and Friday at 3pm.

Friday matinees - good for those of us working from home and with more flexibility now about organising our weeks, and presumably for retired people too. I've often wondered why weekday matinees are nearly always Wednesdays or Thursdays when it would surely make more sense for them to be spread out across the week rather than all compete for business on those two afternoons. |

Really ridiculous pricing for this and half the seats aren't on sale yet. Giving it a miss for now same as Glass Menagerie until hopefully there's some deals, it's similarly not selling too quickly but I'm obviously more worried about this one since it's in such a smaller theatre and I imagine it might only take a little bit of time for sales to pick up once word gets round.

I’ll get myself a £20 ticket just because I definitely don’t want to risk missing out on this - hopefully some good deals closer to the stage will be available soon though. Thankfully the Ambassadors is tiny so even all the way at the back, the view is still pretty good!

I booked the £55 seats - but partly because we have credit from Sunday In The Park with George still to use. Pricing clearly awful but I am afraid it is the new normal.
(I dread to think how much more Sunday In The Park With Jake will cost when they eventually re-schedule it!!)
