I know we already have a TodayTix thread in General Chat so apologies if you want to just merge this admins but I thought it would be useful to let everyone know about all the reopening/opening musicals TodayTix are doing rush for right now, there’s suddenly a lot! I didn’t realise a lot of these were even doing a rush until I checked today so assumed a lot of us wouldn’t be in the know yet.
Come From Away Pretty Woman Anything Goes Hairspray Heathers Be More Chill Les Mis Concert The Prince of Egypt Six (Impossible to get apparently)
I’m sure almost all of us on here are aware what rush tickets are but just in case anyone isn’t, £25 tickets released on the TodayTix app at 10am on the day of the performance, usually great seats. Happy theatregoing!

Most of those were added yesterday. I presume it’s aimed really at when social distancing ends next week and the theatres will have vast quantities of empty seats. Hopefully they should be doing single tickets again too.

I’m really hoping they go back to having single tickets (surely there’s no excuse once they don’t have to worry about distancing). It defeats the point of you have to buy two tickets regardless of whether you have someone to come with you or not.

The point is filling theatres. TT started as a way to sell unsold tickets at bargain prices; an online tkts. Back in the day you were rarely offered choice at tkts. You said what show you wanted and got your tickets, cash only. If you were brave enough to strike up a conversation they might notice that I was 6’4” and find me an aisle seat, otherwise you got what you were given.

Yes, I remember those days too, but there was never a requirement to buy two tickets if you only needed one at tkts. Like a lot of us, I’m sure, the only way I’m able to see as much theatre as I do is because of things like rush tickets. Particularly now that both standard tickets and train prices are so much more expensive.

I actually rarely find cheapest tickets on Todaytix nowadays, they are almost always just selling the regular price tickets with a large mark up so it's usually cheaper to buy direct from the theatre's site. It seems that gone are the days of this being a 'bargain tickets' app.

Nowadays, I tend to use TodayTix to “gage” what shows have cheap tickets available or when since the app is very user friendly for searching, but I’ll then navigate to the official page or other vendors to actually buy the tickets as they’re often cheaper elsewhere.

Don't bother with the alert for rush tickets, it comes up at 3 mins past 10 when everything is gone! But I'm also not bothering with it now because of the two ticket policy.

Yep, definitely be on it yourself not just waiting for the alert. Refresh refresh refresh as people look at what is being offered, let it go and it goes crazy for about five minutes. It’s also worth checking back about thirtyu minutes later when they often decide to release house seats etc, to today tix.

Having tried today, they are offering bad seats this time around, often just at around the normal discounted prices. Not all the advertised shows released rush tickets at all. And some were only releasing in twos.
With lots of availability for the no longer socially distanced performances tonight, I’ll wait until dynamic pricing kicks in.

Gave it go for Hairspray and was offered various seats in Row G of the Dress Circle. Not awful by any means.
Les Mis seem to be offering singles but everything else still looks like 2 seats only. They offered Row H in the Dress Circle as well which isn't too shabby.

I was offered the side rear stalls which I bought, but can see there is still a lot of availability. I wonder if they'll release another batch this afternoon with all remaining seats. Will be disappointing if they do.

Box office collection, which is unusual.

I have set alerts for lots of the Rush shows on TT and have checked that notifications from them are set on my phone….but I’m not getting any alerts and nothing to go to for each show at 10am. Would should I be getting/seeing?

I easily got 2 stalls tickets for Pretty Woman this evening… they’re in row O which isn’t ideal, but still good value for the price!

Would should I be getting/seeing? I just get a notification from the app but it's always well after 10am. I actually checked around around 12pm today and there were a few available. I don't want two tickets though so didn't purchase.

Looks like there’ll be rush for Tina once it reopens too which is great news because it seemed impossible to get cheap tickets for the first 2 years of the run, besides in the GILT New Year Sale. I’d definitely recommend going along while Aisha Jawando is still in the show, we all saw how stellar she was in both the BBC musicals show from the Palladium and The Show Must Go On.

Has anyone actually seen Be More Chill tickets appear on the rush? It always just seems to say it opens 10am daily and to set an alert, rather than it is "Sold Out". Glad to see Leopoldstadt and Singin' in the Rain now offering rush seats. The Mousetrap also seems to have had these added!

Last week I used TodayTix to see Be More Chill at a Thursday matinee - the selection through Rush went quickly, but I then noticed that after a little time (maybe 10-15 mins later? I can't quite remember) the front few rows of the Stalls were reduced to £27.50 in the standard seat selection in TodayTix. If you don't succeed in the Rush I'd recommend having a look to see if that's a regular thing that they do.

The bulk of the mid to rear stalls appear to range from £10-30 anyway for BMC. Might it be worth just buying them?

No, Be More Chill has never actually appeared on Rush.
However, there is a pretty permanent £20 and £30 seat offer on, which are better than the typical Rush seats. They sometimes do massive discounting on the unsold front row seats too, normally late morning, but the view from there is not great (speakers in view etc).
There's also a targeted offer that appears on Facebook where all the non-premium seats are discounted to £20, but I don't think it's linkable. Just make sure your ad-tracking is on for that one.

Alerts on TodayTix are rubbish - mine arrive usually half an hour late at least. Pick your date and show and set your own reminder.
