An entertaining, genuinely funny revival of Keith Waterhouse's homage to Victorian farce (adapted from the novel by George and Greedon Grossmith), the opening night saw a couple of minor stumbles smoothly overcome by the old trooper casting of Miranda Foster and Edward Baker-Duly.

For those who may not be familiar with this, without giving away any spoilers, a married couple in the late Victorian era move to a new home and decide (spontaneously and independently) to start writing a diary at the same time. Much of the humour is in the different interpretation by each one of the same event.

Energetic, lively-paced and with great interplay between the cast who also deftly move the various props about during the action, the audience loved this and it is certainly one way to chase away the blues. There was a great atmosphere on the first night and it felt very much more like good old days than new normals.

Definitely recommended.

I saw this in Friday and would more or less agree with all of the above. This is a lot of fun, the actors seemed to be enjoying themselves and the audience lapped it up. A really good night out.

Just spent a wonderful afternoon at the JST. This really is a wonderful little theatre. It’s only my second visit to this theatre but one that I’ll definitely making return trips to based on the productions I’ve seen. With its intimate auditorium, you really do feel part of the production. A really witty and fast paced production with two fantastic actors in Miranda Foster and Edward Baker-Duly getting plenty of laughs from the audience.
