We all have performers we book to see in shows, because we like them. But love or loathe, does anyone else feel like they seem to see a performer in everything they do, completely by chance?
Mine are Gina Beck (who is brilliant, by the way), I've somehow seen her in Les Mis (Cosette), Phantom (Christine), Jacques Brel is Alive and Well, Lloyd Webber's thing in Hyde Park, Wicked, Matilda, Showboat...
Another one would be Jason Donovan... from memory... Sweeney Todd, Chitty, War of the Worlds (twice, different roles), The Sound of Music, Priscilla, Joseph...

Well with Carousel in the summer it'll be the third time I've seen Carly Bawden in the last year or so. I'm more than happy that's the case but every time (the others were Ghost Quartet and Romantics Anonymous) I was booking to see the show which she happened to be in rather than her casting influencing my decision. Also, not musicals but I saw Gershwyn Eustache Jnr in Small Island and Pass Over and then the TV show I May Destroy You without knowing he was in any of them (and Paapa Essiedu was funnily enough in both of the last two as well). Not a crazy amount of shows but both within a short timespan so those are the two that stick out, anyone else I've seen multiple times was on purpose.

Off the top of my head I think one of the performers I’ve seen most on stage is Tamsin Greig. Some were booked to see her, some not, but I’ve seen her in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to… etc, Twelfth Night, Labour of Love, and Pinter at the Pinter.
I seem to have a habit of seeing the same performers in a few things in a short space of time and then I don’t see them again for years. Like Haydn Oakley in Betty Blue Eyes, Women on the Verge, Sunset Boulevard and An American in Paris; Ben Batt in A Streetcar Named Desire, Woyzeck and The York Realist, and randomly in the audience at the Liverpool Playhouse; Richard Fleeshman in Guys and Dolls, The Last Ship, and Company.

I've seen Simon Lipkin in Avenue Q, The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Rock of Ages, Guys and Dolls, I Can't Sing, The Wind in the Willows, Nativity! and Ghost Stories. As you can tell I'm a bit of a fan but only one trip was specially for him (an extra trip to Nativity in Southampton when he came and covered for a day).

He was excellent in that. Oh and Miss Atomic Bomb.

Simon Russell Beale. And I sat next to his step-mother and father at The Tragedy of King Richard the Second at the Almeida.

Laura Baldwin. Saw her in Big Fish, Eugenius and Waitress without meaning to. Fortunately she is great.

Charlotte Wakefield. In Oklahoma, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Crazy for You. I didn't know in advance and thought she looked familiar!
I've also seen Jason Manford and Phil Jupitus together twice (The Producers and Chitty).
I wonder whether you see the same people sometimes if you see tours by the same promoters?

Will Swenson for me. I saw him every summer when I went to see shows on Broadway. Priscilla, Les Mis, Murder Ballad, Waitress. When I saw him in The Greatest Showman I was like “Oh hi Will, old friend!” … 😆

Purely by chance I've seen Genesis Lynea in Legally Blonde, Jesus Christ Superstar, In the Heights, Six and The Wild Party. She always catches my eye because she's such an incredible dancer

Does anyone else keep a list of performers you've seen in multiple shows or is it just me who is that geeky?

For me it has to be Earl Carpenter; Beauty and the Beast, Witches of Eastwick, Sunset Boulevard and Phantom.
I’m sure there are others but he’s the first that springs to mind!

Having had a look at whom I've seen the most,
In the West End:
Jennie Dale in,
The Witches of Eastwick Les Miserables Jerry Springer : The Opera Mary Poppins The Lord of the Rings
Darren Carnall in,
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Guys and Dolls The Lord of the Rings La Cage Aux Folles Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
and on tour its Bill Kenwright staple Ben Nealon,
Spiders Web Black Coffee Rehearsal for Murder A Judgement in Stone The Case of the Frightened Lady The Lady Vanishes
...and such is life as an actor of the 3365 different actors I've seen, I've only seen 467 of them in more than one production.
I'm not really a "must see that actor" kind of attendee as once upon a time I booked to see a show for a specific actor and there were tales beforehand that the co-star was flaky and off more than on and on the night I was there it was the person I'd booked to see who was missing and the no-show who was on stage. Since then I've booked what I want to see and if there is a specific actor that I like in it then that's great.

Sunset Boulevard, Marguerite, A Little Night Music, JCS Arena Tour, Stephen Ward, Follies (at both the Albert Hall and National Theatre!)
He keeps cropping up, for me!

Wicked U.K. Tour Miss Saigon London (2016/2017?) Les Mis 2020
When I’ve seen these 3 shows, every time, coincidentally, Richard Carson has been on as his 1st Cover character.
Fiyero, Chris and Javert.
I’ve not even known he was in the cast till I saw the programmes so I’m bound to see him in something else over the next few years.
