Yup just over an hour before arrivals were supposed to begin. Of course v disappointed but safety comes first. I can’t see why it’s taken them this long to cancel despite knowing about this at 11am this morning but can only feel sorry for those that have travelled further. Now begins the task of trying to rebook for a later date!
Managed to get tickets for spring awakening instead so all is not lost on our front!

I'm guessing PCR results have not come in. Must be the case all over with the spike in tests

PCR test results can be very slow - last one I did took nearly 36 hours to come back! I'll be gutted if I can't go next week - I really want to see Jessie Buckley but not sure I want to spend £250 to do so rather than the £70 I already have!

Why do they still not have a mask policy at this theatre?

I'm amazed they managed to get so far tbh. I wonder if they'll do a recording/broadcast with this cast? I know it's set up to be a long runner with Cats-style logo, but it looks like Omicron may heavily eat into the availability window for the celebrity names it's currently being sold on.

Some shows - like & Juliet - seem to carry on . Maybe they have a strong team of covers and swings. Having said that I may have just given the show the kiss of death! i hope not as it the kinda fun uplifting show we need just now~~ I know & Juliet has been running a cut show at the moment. On Monday I think they only had 2 male ensemble on during a number that usually has 5 or 6. And they had a stage hand on throughout the show to move set pieces in and out.

Why do they still not have a mask policy at this theatre? I have a feeling they will soon enough. (Not like anyone will adhere to it, though).

More so than the theatre punters coming in, it's people living their lives, travelling to work, which will always be there. This was a backstage crew so more likely to have caught it elsewhere ( unless they're all swimming with it )

Why do they still not have a mask policy at this theatre? Because people have to do Lateral flow tests to be admitted. It negates the needs.

I thought masks were legally required in theatres now, their own rules wouldn't bypass that?

It’s still “unless eating or drinking”, right? And everyone is drinking so nobody has masks. That’s their whole thing.

But it doesn't negate the need, because they accept the lateral flows from up to 48 hours in advance. So I could LFT on Saturday and be negative, and go on Monday night showing the same test and now being testing positive had I don't a test...hence why the 'test before you go out' message for theatre is important, and why we should still be wearing masks. It really isn't rocket science...

But aren't plenty of people testing negative one day, and then testing positive the next morning? I know plenty of people this has happened to...
Whatever anyway, not going to argue about this I haven't got the every 😂

Is there a quick and easy source somewhere to see a simple list of which shows have been cancelled, and until when?

And of course my ticket is for Monday. I really hope it goes ahead - with the way it has sold, do they even have seats left in the near future to offer in exchange?

Exchanges will have to be for post-Redmayne and Buckley as they don't have anything else left, just the odd £250 single seat.

No, it isn't rocket science, but if you really think cloth face coverings work genuinely work as a reliable piece of PPE, then YOU need to bone up on your so-called science.

It isn't rocket science that having something, no matter what it is, covering your face reduces the spread of particles coming out of your mouth and nose more than if they weren't covered at all. The aim isn't to stop it altogether (that's impossible), but to plagiarise a certain large retailer, every little helps. Not difficult to understand.
