Callum Howells was born to play this role. And he gets to play with Adam Taylor every night. Lucky guy!
So much more risqué than the previous casts.
They are no longer offering a free drink.
Wonderful. Looking forward to the second half.

Callum Howells was born to play this role. And he gets to feel up Adam Taylor every night. Lucky guy! So much more risqué than the previous casts. They are no longer offering a free drink. Wonderful. Looking forward to the second half. Looking forward to your full time report

I very much enjoyed this (as far as you can enjoy what could be quite an unsettling show). I was up in the cheap seats but had an excellent view.
As I mentioned, I really liked Callum Howells take on the lead role. Beautiful voice and he showed off a lot more flesh than previous Emcees. He has rather a hairy chest. I will have to sit closer (if finances or offers permit).
The majority of the cast have changed for the new year and they all did a good job. I wasn't immediately sold on Madeline Brewer as Sally Bowles, but she was given a lot more freedom for Life Is A Cabaret and I found myself wanting to jump up to my feet at the end (I didn't).
Can't say there were any real standouts in the rest of the cast, but they gelled together well which is the important thing. The ending to this production is still rather weak. I would rate Callum well above Eddie.

Someone in another thread got raked over the coals for commenting on the actress playing Morticia in “The Addams Family” having a “nice bum”. I am sorry but it’s double standards and I will always call out hypocrisy. Same rules for everyone, it’s how equality becomes reality.

Callum will be starting in Romeo and Julie at the NT from mid-February I guess his run in this won’t be that long then. Do we think he’ll stay until the end of January-ish?

My apologies to anyone I have unintentionally offended. Thank you for the post edit.
This is very much a highly sexualised and provocative production where many audience members get very close to the performers, who also play up on this. But I do appreciate that it’s best not to name individuals.

How does whatever you felt during the performance influence how you choose to write about it later on, when you can consider your words?

It seems to me that when a sincere apology is presented we should extend grace, accept it, and move on. And if one still has concerns they can be expressed privately between individuals.

If what you feel during the production is what the production clearly intends you to feel, surely that is relevant to a review? A production that was intending to be sexy and provocative but left audience members cold would not be considered a success, would it?

That can be very easily expressed without having to include descriptions of someone's chest and how you want to try and get a closer look.

He has had the good grace to apologise if anyone was offended. Why not accept the apology and move on. Life's too short.

Ah, I wondered why the ticket prices I was looking at on TodayTix were lower on certain performances - this explains it

I saw Emily this week and i think she's amazing. Also the changes they've made are a fun improvement.

I’m booked for next Friday so 🤞🏻should be Madeline. I didn’t get to see the original cast but absolutely loved Fra Fee/Amy Lennox. Can’t wait to see the new new cast. Treating myself as I’m supposed to go away next weekend but now have to stay in London, making up for it by splashing out on Cabaret instead!

Does anyone know what the gap in Stalls Row P and Stalls Row J contains? (I know it's not an aisle, but wonder if it's something annoying.) There's a 100 pound price difference between those seats and the ones in front, which I'm afraid means those seats are dire. Also, with standing room behind, are people sort of dancing and partying behind you during the show? Thanks.

I'm trying to think what the gap but it was a year ago I saw it so have forgotten however I wouldn't worry about people dancing and partying behind you as its not that kind of musical. Bit of dancing in the interval with willing volunteers but nothing during the show.

I think the gap in row j is the mixing desk...I'm sure I was sitting H infront of it and I was worried i would be distracted...it was last January and things might have changed but i don't think there was anyone at the mixing desk or if there was it certainly was not a distraction

I'm looking at seats in Row O, so hopefully that's not the active mixing desk!

I sat next to the mixing desk and it did kind of annoy me because I could hear them whispering and clicking away.
oh and also they keep the champagne behind you so you can hear the servers getting ready for the interval too.
