Looking forward to seeing this Saturday night at the Palace. Burly BurlyBeaR (and others), is there any metered street parking nearby? The last time I parked in the NCP (a few years ago, granted)it took an age to get out. Friends who saw Bat out of Hell at the Opera House managed to park on the streets near there. Wondering if there is the same opportunity near the Palace please.

All maybe busy on a Saturday night though. Where Cambridge St and Hulme St meet there is an open air NCP metered parking which you can get out of very quickly and is very close to Mancunian Way for easy city exits.

You’re very familiar with my manor @remark! That’s right where I live.
There’s also an NCP multi story tucked away on Chester Street just near the junction with Oxford Road.

I asked about this the other day but I don’t think we have established who her understudy is, have we? Understudies!

Hahaha scanning through I thought I saw Tim Vincent down to understudy Cecil B. DeMille! That would have been some interesting casting.

Oh and given in and booked again for tonight! I'm there tonight. So excited after reading all these positive comments! Just seen pictures of 'celebs' on the red carpet from last night. Disappointed you're not on there Burlybear!

Ta. Still no clue who it was sat in the box on the left of the auditorium. Few punters snapping picks of 'her'. Big wig, lots of jewels/sparkles on. Ruling out BurlyBeaR as he was in the stalls!

Oooh, little Joe McElderry looks like a pocket sized Danny Mac.
Does that make Danny a Big Mac? With extra cheese?

We were in Gorilla across the road having drinkies before the show and someone called Dolly Rose Campbell from Corrie (apparently) was on the next table.

Merch was thin on the ground last night. Mug, Patti CD, standard programme and the bloke in front of me snaffled the last magnet. Bloody cheek. Put the right mockers on the evenings proceedings not getting my magnet . Theyre waiting for stocks and the lady assured me they’d have some for my next visit Theyre missing a trick by not offering a brochure with some lovely big glossy pictures. Danny fans would have gone for that. Interesting to see that after emerging from the pool Danny gets a shirt on pretty fast. Don’t know why because there’s certainly no need to be bashful 😋

So glad I went to see this last night, it was excellent.
Remember seeing the original at the Adelphi and being in awe of that set with the house flying in then being so disappointed with the Faith Brown tour years later which was basically a few steps and a bit of old curtain. Was great to see Glenn Close last year but I guess that was more of an event really, so I was really looking forward to seeing a proper staged production and this didn't disappoint.
Loved the set and staging, so "cinematic". Danny Mac was a real revelation, as was Adam Pearce (who I didn't really take to in Les Mis) what a voice. And Ria absolutely deserved that immediate ovation and she seemed genuinely moved.
The other wonderful thing was the sound and the fact that you could understand every word, something touring productions often manage to cock up. So important if - like my companion - you've never seen the show before.
All in all, brilliant. I'll be popping back before next Sat.

@wickeder I totally agree. The sound was brilliant and the actors every word was crystal clear.

Sheldrake broke the big red phone as he threw down the receiver in ‘Let’s Have Lunch’. Bits flew off. Amusing.

Loving it so far. Didn't think I was going to make it as other half got stuck in Manchester traffic. Got in with two mins to spare. Phew!

Stalls row A. You?
I did have two empty seats each side of me... but they’ve been pilfered during the interval annoyingly!

You weren't distracted by the coach party they brought in during the car chase then. Nope. Just the 4 they tried to seat in the middle of the row during Salome! They stood there in the aisle rather hopelessly with and Usher and gave up after 2mins of getting in the way. There really should be better management for latecomers.
