Rob Madge played Gavroche in the O2 Arena concert of Les Miz and in the past few months they made a name for themselves on Twitter:

Very exciting to see someone come up rather organically and make a recognisable name for themselves, i think this will be very fun!

They’re very funny on Twitter so I’m interested in this.

Would anyone be interested in a ticket to this for tomorrow evening ? Opening night ? I can no longer make it and I’m quite happy to give it away to anyone who would love to see the show.

I really hope this gets transferred to a different theatre soon, since it’s been so popular. I’d love to see it but getting to the Turbine Theatre is such a hassle.

Rob has started rehearsals for Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Would he have time for a transfer? (As much as I’d love one as held odd on booking until it was too late!!)

Looking at the Bedknobs tour dates, the most I could envisage happening is the show taking up a Monday evening residency at a theatre. Otherwise, it will probably be Summer 2022 before any transfer is likely (Edinburgh Fringe, perhaps?).

Surely it would make more sense to film it and stream it?

I am so so so so SO thrilled for them. This was without a doubt the best show I’ve ever seen at the Edinburgh Fringe. A West End run will hopefully send this into the stratosphere. They deserve every single award and accolade they have coming.

Wonder if this may get the Fleabag treatment and be adapted for the screen. I haven't seen this live yet so don't know how well it could work on TV but the videos I have seen of Rob online are very funny. I am sure this is the start of bigger things for them.

This is such a funny heartwarming show. I absolutely LOVED the matinee this afternoon. Some spoilers follow. . . The lady sitting next to me had seen the show in Edinburgh, and she assured me there'd be tears. I doubted her, but she was right, and although the show worked it's magic slowly, by the end, I was in floods. It is also immensely funny. The engine of both the heartwarming emotions and the hilarity is the interrelation between past (Madge's childhood self is depicted in family home videos) and present (Madge hasn't essentially changed a bit lol). I was reminded of Michael Apted's legendary 7up documentary, where he filmed the same people every seven years, and began every show with Aristotle's quote" "Give me the child up to the age of 7, and I will show you the man." Well, this show is like "7Up" in reverse: "Give me the diva right now and I will show you the diva child" lol. Also, "Show me a functional funny loving adult right now, and I will show you some great parents. . . AND grandparents." Lol. Watching Madge's childhood self boss his parents around, filming Disney reenactments in their childhood sitting room, with the exhortation" Film ME," while his grandma and grandpa contribute costumes and set, is wonderful. And the way Madge relates to their own history is wonderful. And the way this says so much, about parenting and grandparenting generally, is wonderful. And a couple of the songs in this are wonderful too. 4 stars of heartwarming fun from me. PS: The Turbine Theatre has been on a roll lately, and I hope "Diva: Live from Hell" also gets a further life like this, with Luke Bayer, as that show was multiple laughs per minute! The graduates of "Millennials" at The Other Palace, including Madge and Bayer, are doing great things. And so is the Turbine Theatre!

I've just been listening to the soundtrack and it really does sound good. I must try and see it maybe next week. Love the idea of a nice short show with no interval too as recently I am finding the west end at night is just getting worse and worse and its not a pleasant experience to be there.

I saw the first show on Friday and by far the best show I've seen this year. I thought it was so tight - especially with the video cues. So full of heart; I was literally crying from laughter and then trying NOT to cry. MSAQ is very moving and a love letter to theatre in a way. So glad I made time to see this.

Saw this tonight, it’s incredible from start to finish. It’s so moving and inspiring, I wish I had that much footage of me as a kid.
It’s only ok until 6th Nov and I urge you to book a ticket before it ends. Tickets have been selling incredibly fast since the press night on Monday.
