You can add me to the list of people for whom Six just 'isn't my thing.' I like what it's doing, the principles behind it, the female empowerment angle and the fact it brings new audiences to MT. But for my taste it's a bit more pop concert than MT, the songs are ok but I don't love them and it's a long way from the classic lavish MT I adore. It clearly connects with a younger audience though. That said, the aggressive fan girl-ing is one of the areas I struggle with as when I went the screaming was distracting on a Wicked cast change/flying cup cakes scale. I'm very much about female empowerment, it's fun but I completely agree with you. It's why I have always struggled with Wicked.

Loved it. Such a tonic right now and reminded me why I love being a part of this theatre world. Sheridan proved that she isn't Sausage on The Masked Singer and the duet with Amanda really wasn't great. Ramin, effortless and just a god. Six, fun as always. Nicole Scherzy, if that was live, she was amazing, even if she was wearing an entire Boots makeup counter on her face. Nicole Raquel Dennis absolutely slayed AAITY, that tour will be a must-see when it can go ahead. The new song (to me) from Cinderella was lovely and I enjoyed it far more than the CHF one. Layton was very good, better actually than he was on tour last year. Mamma Mia felt like 3 mums doing good karaoke down the Legion, but then I think that about the whole show anyway (even though I adore Mazz Murray) Jac Yarrow was charming and needs to stop being so handsome, it's distracting. Also most of the British public can't sing. Tina was very good, I liked the alternative arrangement for the first half. Lea Salonga effortless as always, she owns IDAD every time. Michael Ball, god love him. Always a joy to watch and one of the perkiest songs of all time. Dear Evan Hansen brought tears to my eyes as soon as the first chords started, as it always does. Sam Tutty is a star. Gavin Spokes, brilliantly characterised and performed. Kerry Ellis, I still love her and will always adore that belter of a song. I also spotted Emma Hatton in the ensemble but didn't recognise anyone else. God bless theatre. I feel so lifted. @robertb123 - officially my favourite review ever. Especially the one about the Boots counter. Girl can singggggggggg though and is so beautiful. Brava.

I caught it from Dreamgirls but the script was cringe. The orchestra was beaut. Annoyed the West End Performers ensemble were not even credited at the very end. Bad form! I do agree. They did, however, at one point put a link on the screen and that gave their names.

I'm in the I don't get Wicked category, I just thought it was like a bad pantomime, sorry
I thought they might have put You'll be back right at the end as a reminder that we will be back
I'd have cut Mamma Mia, to me it's just a compilation of ABBA songs and would have put another original show in its place
N Scherzy impressed me and Kian was amazing

(Like me with aw shucks Sheridan grrrr). Dr Medani was indeed excellent and it was just nice to have people singing. Six sounded great with orchestral backing whereas I don’t think it added anything to ‘You Will Be Found’. I was making tea in the Jamie bit but I already know I’m not interested, and yes she sang AIATY well but I’ve already refunded my tour tickets for Dreamgirls and don’t need to see it again. Some of it was ace and some of it was meh, but it was lovely to have on the whole.

The choice of songs was populist, but well spread amongst classics and more recent fare. Now i feel old... We must have very different views on what musical theatre songs are considered 'classics' Please don't say Phantom...

They cut Groban and EP??? What? Why? Love him :-( Sounds borderline rude to me, too, considering what a star he is. But then perhaps not THAT well-known in the UK? Guess they didn't want to cut anything that was currently in the West End and the walking Boots Make-up counter is the better-known name in the UK (had rather heard Groban than Scherzy).

Perhaps he couldn't do a video recording, only vocal for some reason?

Perhaps he couldn't do a video recording, only vocal for some reason? Nah. He’s made some ace videos from all over his home during lockdown. I think he knows his way round a camera set up.

Maybe they blew all the budget for international performance rights on Nichole Scherzinger and her nails. Or Equity would only allow for TV transmission rights for 2 international performers, in a ratio to British performers.

Watched last night on iPlayer, so the viewing figures will now be at least 4,000,001.
Mostly very good, but I've just written to the BBC to complain about its terrible faux pas, the one everybody's talking about. Jamie didn't premiere at the Crucible Theatre...it premiered at the world-famous Crucible Theatre. 😉
And if the young man from Cinderella wants to be a star, someone people respect, he needs to buy a jacket with an extra inch in the sleeve.

What do Nicole Scherzinger and Jane Mcdonald have in common? They both appeared as Grizabella in Cats. In my opinion Jane sings Never Enough far better than Nicole.

I think he might be a very popular teenage crush, with those big eyes and nice smile. He's still rhyming "knew" with "loo" though.

I was so distracted by his gorgeous smile that I never once paid attention to his sleeves. That said, it may be some new fashion thing us crumblies haven't picked up on yet.

Yes, yes she does and Nicole sang the crap out of it so you can imagine how good Jane’s take on it is. I remember groaning when she said she was doing a Greatest Showman segment, then blew the roof off our little theatre with her ‘Never Enough’. Shame about the sharp ‘enoughs’ when she has to do them quieter.

When did Sheridan Smith become this naff and unwatchable? I had to fast forward her bits. Just awful.
Highlights Dear Evan Hansen- that song is always moving and powerful.
Lea Salonga- a class act. Always.
Six- great song and performance of it.
Nicole Scherzinger (?) ... very impressed she managed to sing that song and so well.
Kerry Ellis- fabulous. ( also She looked like a 1920s painting come to life with her angular face and bob)
Lowlights Mamma Mia was embarrassing
Dreamgirls - She had none of the vocal gravitas this song needs. A perfectly good “I’m gonna sing this on my audition for The Voice” version, but I wouldn’t pay £70+ to hear that in the theatre.
Amanda Holden and Sheridan Smith.. since when has mediocrity like this become celebrated?
Cinderella song.. zzzzzz
Joseph song- naff as all f**k.
God I miss sitting in a theatre watching a musical.

(Bit late to the party I do realise) generally I enjoyed it.
Regardless of how good there were or not, it was a bit odd the performers standing on stage with no audience or dancers.
Look, I'm always up for a good musical and anything that's going to promote any theatre in the current climate I'm all for however as much as a talent Sheridan Smith is- and I really do believe she is- from what I saw, I don't like her presentation style. I haven't watched that dog clipping programme that she host to compare but for me, her presentation- not her actual performance- was one of the weakest thing of the night.

My mum was incredulous at it. “I didn’t know any of them! That CAN’T be what you go to London for can it? I wouldn’t waste my money!” 😄
