Couldn't take my eyes off of Sutton Foster, perfect casting.

I’m just watching the recording now and thoroughly enjoying it. The plot is so slight because it was just a framework to hang all of these glorious Cole Porter songs on. It is so well cast, wonderfully performed and just fab. I will take the time to go and see it on its return. There's already a discounted tickets offer from re-opening night (Fri 15 July) at the Barbican through WestEndTheatre.com. Not targeted and easily found from a google search. £95.40 tickets are reduced to £59.50 including front row of the stalls. I remember there were similar deals last year before full casting was announced. I think it will be a harder sell this year with the TV screening and tour. I've booked opening night anyway.

I think the tv recording undersold the sheer joy of the show, and made it just look a bit nothing. Its the draught from all of those people moving in unison, the voices and the ‘being in the room’ of it all that release the seratonin.

Liverpool Manchester and Bristol on sale. Manchester has an opening night offer, half price on all tiers so top price stalls are £30.

Underwhelming on so many levels. That is a touring cast not a Barbican worthy line-up.
I know some love KE. But I just don't see her as bringing the right Broadway belter sound or charisma to the role.

Isn't Simon Callow a bit old for Whitney?

Isn't Simon Callow a bit old for Whitney? 72. Gary W is 67. Not that much of a difference

Has anyone seen Kerry tap dance? Or any sort of dance for that matter?
Bonnie will be wasted in that part.

Don’t think any of Kerry’s previous roles have really had dancing at all, and she hasn’t really done comedy either. I’m happy for her getting another leading role seeing as she hasn’t had one for a while but I’m not sure if this is the right one. Her strength in Wicked was mainly her vocals I believe rather than her acting (correct me if I’m wrong, I never saw her, just going off what other board members and theatre fans have said). This is a part for a triple threat and Kerry’s strength is really her killer voice. You also have a triple threat who’s well known by a lot of the general public right there but you cast her as Evangeline?! Ok. I agree with Burly that Bonnie will be wasted in this part and it’s almost an insult to someone of her talent and calibre having this role.

Well sadly it’s not like Bonnie is being offered major leading roles. It’s work.

Has anyone seen Kerry tap dance? Or any sort of dance for that matter? Bonnie will be wasted in that part. She danced in the opening number of cats when she was in it at the Palladium - did the full jellicle cats number. Not sure about tap but did see someone on twitter say they'd been working with her on tap which is cool. Bonnie is a bit wasted but she'll be hilarious in the bits she has got!

I will go to my grave not understanding why Bonnie isn't playing Reno. I love Kerry but this makes literally no sense.
