Megan Mullally also plays Tammy 2 in Parks and Rec (odd name but frequently reoccurring charecter), playing an ex-wife of lead Ron Swanson, who ironically is played be her real life partner Nick Offerman. Is she is over he, will he join her over here? His one man show did well in the US, and I'd love to see him.
More on topic, have wanted to see Anything Goes for years but at those prices? Nope. Can't think after this year how anyone who works in the arts could actually afford them to be honest.

I tried to book direct with the Barbican where I have an account and have attended several shows in the last couple of years. The website suggests logging in to access priority booking but doing so just generates a message that I am not eligible to book till Monday.
Seems a strange marketing ploy to allow agencies to sell tickets, presumably with a commission, before the venue itself but so it goes. I'm okay with the £75 front row stalls price and it might be a bit less direct from the Barbican. Their website refers to tickets from £25 but there's nothing under £30 from the ticket agencies at present.

London Theatre Direct selling tickets without fees(!) £150, £120, £95, £75 and some lower prices. But basically, nothing less than these prices in the stalls anywhere near the front. I'll wait for the Barbican pricing. Those are the weekend prices, mid-weeks are £125, £95, £80, £60, £45 and £30. Still high but marginally better. |

Will and Grace. She was in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying with Matthew Broderick. She can sing dance and act. She has an amazing voice.She was the OBC of Young Frankenstein. She was very good in the role. And my question has been answered! If she can indeed sing and dance then I will definitely be going to this - she always was the best thing about Will & Grace! |

Thanks for the tip, I just tried a new password. but same "not eligible for priority booking" message unfortunately. I've had an account there since well before Feb 4th anyway. It's a long run at a venue that's not the easiest to get to, so I'm confident of getting the seat I want (centre of front row stalls) in the general on-sale. |

Well this is exciting casting! I’m a huge fan of Will & Grace. Just googling her credits and you forget just how many amazing shows she’s been in (and I’m shocked at in her 60s, she didn’t look it at all on the W&G revival). So this will be her stage musical in 26 years then?

Megan has extensive musical theatre experience. She did many musicals in Chicago in the eighties, 3 Broadway musicals and many minor shows around LA over the years. Had to turn down quite a few musical roles during Will and Grace. As a teen she was a soloist with Oklahoma City Ballet and in recent years done choreography and dancing with her band Nancy and Beth. Think she'll be pretty amazing in this.

Can she tap dance though? She does a tap routine in one of her dance routines with her band. Pretty sure she'll need to brush up but she's very disciplined. I imagine there'll be some allowances for age with this cast. |

On the age front it seems an odd casting of Megan who at 62 is substantially older than the part should be and also than anyone who has ever played Reno.

Her playing age is less than that. Plus the character is always rather ageless to my mind. She is a more worldly and mature personality with plenty of spirit and sass. That fits MM perfectly.
I have wanted to see her on stage for a long time. This seems like good casting to me.
