We are coming back to London in Sep for Pretty Woman and Hairspray. Actually have a free night then as booked 3 nights in hotel so hoping we can see Anything Goes.

Tix are still on for next week... have they just not been cancelled because the isolation rules will have ended then? Or will they be cancelled too?

Impressed with how quickly TodayTix refunded me on this, albeit with a voucher but a long-dated one, about an hour after the cancellation. I suppose they get lots of practice. I had tickets for the first cancelled performance so made it to the Barbican before they announced the cancellation - no big inconvenience for me really, just unlucky.

If Sheridan Smith could become a tap whizz in the next two years she is perfect for Reno Sweeney, and I don’t often say that! Good god what a hideous idea. Enough of musicals with mediocre leading ladies. Sheridan has got two Olivier Awards one for a play and one for a musical. She is a very good leading lady

I booked direct with the Barbican for last Thursday and have just received a credit for the full amount paid. Rebooked the same seat for mid September. Only cost £5 more than I originally paid so happy with that.
Tomorrow's performance is showing as sold out, hopefully it is going ahead.

Oh highonahill I really feel for you, I hope you've seen the Amelie news before you've set out? 😪 Gutted for all involved. And me of course, typical this weekend is my first 2 show weekend since the pandemic began. This on Sunday and Amélie Sat night...praying that doesn't go down too as I love this show (which was my last London show pre-lockdown 1)

I saw the news minutes before I left for London, but decided to go anyway as was meeting my daughter and her partner and had a hotel booked. So we all saw Singing in the Rain instead which was a delight. Woken up to the news that Anything Goes should be back on for today's matinée, so all good! One hell of an expensive weekend though, with late night/early morning cocktails thrown in too 😉 but I guess I've had such a theatre drought over the last 18 months that it was worth it! Still hope to rebook Amélie for another date.

Did they open rush tickets today? The show wasn’t showing on TodayTix when I checked before 10am, but it’s up now.

It's weird that the Sunday performance had lots of availability because it was packed when I saw it last week but I guess that they held back tickets as a precaution just in case it got cancelled.

Got amazing Rush tickets for this today, what a great venue - not a bad view at all. And of course, what a fantastic show, just a joy from start to finish!

Wow! Absolutely loved AG. Just what was needed. I'd forgotten how funny the book is (or maybe just hadn't seen the right version until now.)
Around 70% (imo) of the stalls audience didn't wear masks, which was disappointing. Don't they get they're part of the problem? It's frustrating to see, especially as 3 of our party work backstage on a production that is scrupulous about following Covid procedures and know cast, crew and FOH on shows take the utmost precautions to keep everyone safe and productions running.

Honestly a pro shot of this would be just stellar. It's from the same people who produced King and I so it's not impossible...right? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Trafalgar decide to film it for cinemas, I believe The King and I was successful when it released in cinemas and they'd want to build their slate of filmed productions. I've just been told that a week of performances are going to be filmed 'with multiple cameras' in mid-September. Sounds too excessive to be just for an archive recording...

So saw this yesterday getting £45 stalls seats on the day. Such an incredible show, went in with no knowledge whatsoever besides the amazing reviews ans WOW. The show is so funny I didn’t realise and omg the cast is simply incredible! The dancing was amazing, the end to Act 1 and opening of Act 2 are two of the best musical numbers I’ve ever seen. Sutton was so amazing but I feel like Carly M Dyer stole the show for me. Such an incredible actress I, glad she’s getting a lead role now after seeing her in the ensemble for many previous west end shows. In fact the whole cast are so greatly cast. Also the set was insane and fits so well on the Barbican stage. So glad I got to visit

When I was reading through the programme yesterday I noticed that at least 2 of the producers are involved in filming shows for a larger audience so it all sounds very hopeful and we will have one up on those there Yanks as it will be the London revival that will be filmed for posterity.

Well the theatre gods have been kind to me and I’ve just managed to bag a rush ticket for the back of the stalls for tonight’s performance. Though I did have the nightmare of the payment screen freezing on me mid transaction. Those few minutes certainly got my heart racing before the email confirmation came through. I’m sure based on reviews here, It’s going to be a great night at the Barbican.
