The start times are interesting with a Friday evening performances at 1800 and 2100. I wonder if they're losing the interval for the West End run.

I think the Birmingham production was 2 hours including interval, whereas the original Los Angeles was 1 hour 30 without one, which I think would be the better option for this. I doubt they'd have only an hour gap between shows. I thought that this wasn't going to happen in time for Halloween! I almost thought that it would want a slightly smaller place like the Playhouse, but then Derren Brown announced dates until the 14th for his show.

This was about as 3-stars as a show can get in Birmingham. I'll second the thought that it would be better as a one-act play - losing the tension is perhaps a bigger problem for a horror story than others.

The Phoenix has had plays in the past, I saw Goodnight Mr Tom there for example so I think The Exorcist should work well there.

I thought with a bit of work and cast tweaking it could do well in WE.

October - March at the Pheonix Theatre. A transfer of the Birmingham Rep version, anyone see it in Birmingham last year? Could be quite fun!

Some of the press releases said tickets would go on sale 4pm Friday 11th August, and the Phoenix tweeted saying general booking is open Monday 14th at 10am, however I just booked £15 front row seats through ATG, so presuming either there is a glitch or booking has opened early (I'm not an ATG card holder)

I thought it was always meant to be public booking today at 3pm. I've grabbed myself what seems to be front row as a Hallowe'en treat. £15 is a reasonable enough price, and even if it's a little disappointing, it's still always nice to see something from the horror genre pop up on stage.

Hmmm Metro, Evening Standard etc all say on sale 4pm Friday
I agree - you can't really go wrong for £15. I am wondering why the front row is quite so cheap as the view from there at the Phoenix isn't that bad - is it going to be in a splash zone for the green vomit scene?

Front (and second) row seats for £10-£15 is standard practice at the Rep.

Got myself a £15 front stalls ticket for the Friday of the weekend prior to Halloween - thought it was a quite a bargain until I read the comments above about vomit No mention of the cast - do we think it's likely to be Bowles and Seagrove again, or maybe someone a bit higher profile (nothing against Peter Bowles, I met him after a NT Platform a few years ago and found him to be thoroughly decent chap, while I know next to nothing about Jenny Seagrove beyond her being Michael Winners, ahem, friend for years)?

They were both good, though Bowles' part is somewhat smaller. You needn't worry about vomit.

And she's now been Bill Kenwright's 'friend' for even longer.

I'm personally hoping for some family friendly re-writes. There. Much better.

A friend just worked with Bowles and said he is going to be in this Peter Bowles and Sean Matthias attended the opening night of Evita at the Phoenix so I'd be surprised if PB wasn't in it. And I'll be amazed if Jenny Seagrove isn't in it!

I've booked for this and am looking forward to an evening of schlocky entertainment! It sounds like the basis of a very effective production was in place in Birmingham last year but that it needed to ditch the interval and tighten a few things up. Hopefully they will do that.
It's a bit of a shame they didn't retain the poster art from Birmingham which was really eerie. The West End artwork is fine but Regan looks about 35!

Every single date I randomly click says the front row is unavailable how are you guys getting the £15 tickets front row? Is it a special online deal thing? Or has the front row already sold out?

Same here, I went for second row for £15 - unless I have Pazazu sitting in front of me wearing a top hat I'm happy enough with that.
