Another monologue - very popular in the current climate for obvious reasons - this one written and performed by Molly Dooner. It was apparently performed last year at the Bread and Roses' short-lived offshoot near King's Cross.
Bordering on stand-up at times, especially the bits of interaction with the audience, this is the tale of a typically(?) insecure young girl worrying about being dumped by boyfriend, stood up by friends and losing her job - slightly adapted because coronavirus. A girl who wants to have fun who isn't getting much... fun.
Chirpy and histrionic in turns, very physical in her approach, Molly Dooner gives a very natural performance. Where the material gets darker, sexual consent, perhaps the tone needs to fit the subject a bit more and it could have done with a stronger, more defined ending. But the 95% full (under the current rules) house did not complain. People are genuinely glad to be able to go to a show and genuinely appreciative of the efforts of the actors and all involved in these performances.
