Very welcome news to have SFP back in the West End.

I spent the morning giggling so hard at their video, that I ended up buying a ticket for the play: for a Christmas Eve matinee, since I'm likely going to be in London on my own during the Christmas break anyway. Fingers crossed it actually happens! (Still giggling at the video, btw!)

For solo theatre-goers, there's a single front row (B) stalls seat for this play still available for some performances. A reasonable £45 booked direct with DMT. I've booked.

Did anyone get the chance to see this before everything shut back down? I’ve seen these guys’ videos and they’re really funny, I just wasn’t sure how they’d translate to stage.

I've just seen it. If you like Morecambe and Wise and laugh at general silliness you'll love it. Daft gags, crazy slapstick routines all wrapped up in a nostalgic warm glow. This afternoon's guest star was David Walliams and we got a bonus cameo by Matt Lucas. On my way home and still grinning under the face mask

Just finished watching this and had an absolutely fantastic afternoon. It is daft and crazy and the kind of comedy I really enjoy watching that doesn’t rely on swearing every 5 minutes to get laughs. You With a front row seat, myself and another guy a few seats down got targeted for some of the jokes which were great fun. We had Claudia Winkleman on as the special guest and was a great sport in her parts of the show. A fun afternoon spent at the Noël Coward.

Just finished seeing this this afternoon: I thought it started really brightly and overall I enjoyed it but even at 85 minutes it seemed slightly too long, there were more than a few bits that didn’t seem to work (for example I’m not sure what the old guy serving fruit was about) and it had the air of some kind of footlights show but it’s worth seeing if you enjoy seeing stand up comedy.
This afternoon’s guest appearance: Sanjeev Bhaskar, he was sat three seats along from me with who I’m guessing is his son: he was wearing a face mask so when I said excuse me to take my seat I didn’t have a clue that I was in the presence of such a show business Titan. 😉

Is there a programme for this? Rory - No physical programme, just a QR code digital one. The script is available to buy.

qrcodes.pro/IaLJYH is the link for the programme, which is actually little more than a list of cast/creatives. Patricia Hodge was the guest at Saturday's matinee. This is a nicely written piece that shifts from Radio-4-style light humour to full-on farce during its 90 minutes. Hilarious though it is, it would have been funnier still were I able to have indulged in further libation at the halfway point. But the show-within-the-show interval is skipped straight over in the actual show. This is a mistake I feel. If the nostalgic charms of Morecambe and Wise give you a warm fuzzy feeling, you'll love this. A solid four-star entertainment. Act 1: 14:33-16:01
