My guess is its not going to happen as it would seem logical to add an extra concert the night before or after to be able to get the cast/crew.
I would have thought we would have heard something ny now.

Oh dear, Saturday's forecast seems to have thunderstorms as a possibility. The FAQ on the website says that they'll carry on with the performance if it does rain...fingers crossed it doesn't!

The chance of rain at the time of the concert (according to Apple Weather) has dropped from 90% to 50%. So we might be in luck.

Anyone who is going tonight and gets a chance to speak to anyone "involved" with the show can you try and find out about plans for another concert please.
I know Alex Parker was trying and we were invited to e mail and say how many tickets we wanted which I did but it has gone very quiet since then.
And have a great evening.

Well that was a magical evening. Seeing actors performing live in person again. And then it started raining. And then it stopped. Every Day A Little Death, Weekend in the Country, it starts raining properly. And by Send in the Clowns, IT POURS! But OMG, Janie Dee, what a pro! She soaks in the moment, barefoot in a red frock - “Isn’t it Bliss!” Amazing evening and full standing ovation in the rain.
Also, yes, they are still hoping for repeats of this concert where hopefully it’ll be drier although Joanna Riding joked all future performances should be in the rain. Ughhh, I missed theatre!!

Back from an evening's entertainment at A Little Wet Night Music.
I got chills from most of the second half, mainly because I was that soaked. Just finished wringing out my socks.
But the singing was really good. Kudos to Janie Dee from moving out from under the limited cover to sing Send In The Clowns exposed to the torrential rain.
Really, well done to everyone for keeping going. There were crew sweeping out water from the orchestra section as fast as it arrived and you could see them all struggling to dry off their instruments whenever they got a short break from playing. When the torrential rain started, you could see the crew running around to try and sort everything and I think they were very close to cancelling at one point.
I would have enjoyed it more had it been dry, but even when wet it was a great concert.

What a way to return to the theatre last night after a painful interval!
It was the absolute perfect setting for the show - walking up the steps into the grounds moved me quite a lot. It really was the perfect setting for the show.
So great to see Janie, Joanna, Laura and a few others back from 2015 to deliver their knock out performances again, with Damian H joining as a gorgeous Fredrik.
Such a beautiful orchestration from the 9 piece orchestra, led wonderfully by Alex Parker.
I don't think anything could have prepared us for the rain though. To have been dying of the heat on Wednesday/Thursday, to then being in some of the heaviest rain I've ever seen in my entire life for over an hour, it really was one of those nights.
I'll remember Janie Dee stepping out into the rain to sing the second half of Send In The Clowns for a long time to come. What a moment it was.
I cried a lot, but laughed more. Laughed at the absolute absurdness of being sat there, soaked through to my skin, watching this unfold before me.
What a way to return to the theatre.

Well, I LOVED this. Such a shame about the weather but kudos to everyone who made it to the end (some of the more famous members of the audience who had reserved seating bailed out).
The setting of Holland House is inspired and suits the show perfectly; I hope this gets a re-run at some point. Typical as well that it was only the weekend before that we had glorious weather!
Adored the cast. Nadim Naaman, Damian Humbley, and Joanna Riding were all exquisite, but Janie Dee stole the show - deservedly. Was it me or did the piano break down just before Send in the Clowns? I assume water got into the electrics? Anyway, they managed to fix it in time...
Seemed to have been played very much along the lines of the Trevor Nunn revival (with the same orchestrations). Would love for the West End to have a full-scale revival (with a larger orchestra) one day. Harold Prince's original is still the best.
Shame about some of the cuts, but given the weather, not a bad thing for that performance.

I believe they used the Jason Carr orchestration which was used for Trevor Nunns revival at the Menier so you are spot on. |

4 stars from the Times. What with the celeb noshows and press taking seats no wonder it was so hard to get seats. Sounds as if there weren't many left for the public to buy. But maybe a blessing in didn't get seats as I hate the rain so would have been in a right mood. |
