A new stage adaptation of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code will embark on a UK tour, it has been announced.
It will have its world premiere at the Churchill Theatre Bromley on 3rd April 2021.
The play version is by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel. It will be directed by Luke Sheppard with design by David Woodhead & Andrzej Goulding and is being produced by Simon Friend.
The Da Vinci Code follows symbologist Robert Langdon travels from Paris to London to discover the truth behind a mysterious and bizarre murder. Later, he learns about a religious mystery protected by a secret society.

I feel like this is coming a dozen years too late to have a big appeal. I guess it depends on the casting, but again whoever plays the Tom Hanks role will have huge shoes to fill.

Hasn't the nation suffered enough? I think we will (understandably) see a lot more of this when theatres can eventually reopen. So called ‘safe bet’ shows to get the crowds in. Or safer bet at least. |

Can't you? I can absolutely see the National programming a couple of big crowd-pleasers in the Lyttelton and the Olivier. And I'm sure they'll schedule 'Jack Absolute Flies Again' as soon as they can, because 'One Man, Two Guvnors' was such a big hit for them.

I feel duty bound to share this Stewart Lee clip where he talks about Dan Brown.
But whether this will work onstage I have no idea. I tried to watch the film but it was so dull I couldn't finish it.

Can't you? I can absolutely see the National programming a couple of big crowd-pleasers in the Lyttelton and the Olivier. And I'm sure they'll schedule 'Jack Absolute Flies Again' as soon as they can, because 'One Man, Two Guvnors' was such a big hit for them.
He will certainly continue with Romeo & Juliet because it’s a GCSE set book. |

Anyone know what the National had planned for Christmas? I know a new musical of Roald Dahl's The Witches was previously rumoured so that would draw in the crowds depending on where they are with it. But back to The Da Vinci Code, I've not read or seen it before nor know the previously mentioned reveal so I may consider going! In my opinion whatever gets the industry back up and running again even if it means doing popular stuff. |

Never read the book or seen the film but surely Sir Leigh Teabing is some sexual practice that is only talked about in the murkiest areas of the internet.
