Phantom he is a predator for a start and to be honest I am not keen on Raoul. I have some of my fave (and well not currently but as it stood) played or covered Raoul (West End and Tour). So I def just don't like the characters that much.
Also Chris in Miss Saigon everyone hates Ellen but I feel sorry for her.

King George in Hamilton practically chews the scenery. Only songs I skip in Hamilton at the sheer memory of it.
Gavroche with his mockney cockney and little Cosette with the excruciating RP caaaaastle on a cloud.
Similarly Matilda with her clipped Ts and Ds sooo annoying
Lauren - Kinky boots - toe curling awkwardness but for the audience

The most famous one of all - The Phantom.
I have never been able to get past the fact that he's a murderer.
Much preferred his more mellow self in the first iteration of Love Never Dies (helped by Ramin's muscles, voice and general fancyability) and was a shame when ALW bowed to peer pressure and advice from Uncle Bill and nastied him up again.

To be honest I dislike both the Phantom and Christine - the only thing that saves that musical for me is the music (and even then, I’m only a fan of the music from act one). The Phantom is a murdering psychopath and Christine is an utter wet blanket.
Not a fan of the Engineer in Miss Saigon either - he treats the girls horribly and yet somehow we are supposed to warm to him enough to warrant giving him the big 11 o’clock number?
Jane and Michael Banks - I’m with Katie Nanna: utter brats.

Cosette and Marius are so wet, I always zone out a bit when they're on. At least Marius gets a redeeming moment with Empty Chairs.
I've only seen Waitress once but found Dawn very irritating.

Flounder in The Little Mermaid. I read the libretto recently via www.mtishows.com/news/tag/free-read, and he pretty much only exists to unconvincingly let slip secrets to other characters and thereby creakily move the plot along. |

I can't stand all the adult cats who despise Grizabella (the young ones at least want to approach her) for the vaguest of reasons.
Sure, it is the flaw of the musical that nothing is explained well but we're talking about the majority of the cats we're following for the whole musical and how am I supposed to relate to them when I don't get why they hate Grizabella.
Is it because she left? What does glamour cat mean exactly? Why is that a terrible thing for cats? Does it mean she likes to be glamorous and is proud of it? - says the cats who act high and mighty most of the time
If the musical is going to make a song and dance about Grizabella at least explain! Does the film explain?

I thought maybe it was because all the other cats have humans and homes, even Gus and Skimbleshanks, who live in a theatre and a railway station/line respectively. Grizabella seems to be a stray. Other than that, I have no idea what she's done to offend the other cats. |

Cosette is awful, she's just such a drip. Although once I did see a Cosette I really liked - she got really cross with Valjean at one point and stamped at him, and seemed much more human.
