100 minutes seems more than enough to me... 100 seconds would be a far more fitting length x

Love her or not, does anyone else feel it might have been a nice touch to give Elaine Paige a cameo in this? Seems rather ungracious given it was her top five hit with 'Memory' that helped cement the show's original success.

For @sharpe12 :
Looks like there's no Battle of the Pekes and Pollicles or Jellicle Ball - impossible to tell whether Gus will include Growltiger's Last Stand or not (although I'd imagine not)

About time! Relieved to see that list of classics from the show - with the last trailer I was really starting to worry that they'd ditched half the songs in favour of Rebel Wilson and James Corden talking. Re the track list - I'd imagine not complete, it does call it a highlights album. For Evita the highlights were released first then the double CD of the whole thing came later. (Can't remember how they did it for Phantom but that also had highlights and complete versions). I am sure Jellicle Ball will be in. Not sure re Pekes/Pollicles and Growltiger, but I guess they are obvious omissions to keep running time down. Also, just digital at mo it seems, so if ALW has indeed been tinkering until the 11th hour, I would expect (hope) a double CD to follow in the new year. Anyway, good news.

Would be weird to have Growltiger in it (Ray Winstone) without the song!? Think it’s just not on highlights as mentioned.

100 minutes seems more than enough to me... Our local cinema gives the running time of 120 minutes, which I guess seems about right due to the length of the show. It's my least favourite ALW show but will probably see the film out of curiosity.

All I saw was the word ‘can’...you ‘can’ pre-order it...you don’t have to...nobody will force you.

Lovely to see dame Judi reminiscing about her ill fated time as Grisabella, and it's sort of appropriate that she gets to be in the film. It's also fitting the sir Ian is in the film, as does anyone remember the film of Six Degrees of separation where his character is promised a small role in the film of Cats if they ever found a way to make it - this idea was a recurring plot point, and the idea was the source of much ridicule.

Yes, a major irony re Sir Ian in SIX DEGREES and now this. He's very good in CATS (which I have seen an almost-finished version of) and Dame Judi is tremendous -- her entrance is sublime and you can tell how much fun the younger actors have basking in her presence (and even nuzzling her, as cats do and will).
I'll say no more for now since the film is not yet 100% finished.

Running time of 100 mins from the programming info I got about 4 weeks ago. But who knows what's happened since b Cineworld gives the running time as 109 minutes.

So there's a premiere somewhere tonight, isn't there, so presumably it's finished.

Finally had it confirmed today that it’s 111 mins and a U certificate.
Some people will be seeing it tomorrow night, hope to get some news after they’ve seen it.

“Beautiful Ghosts” didn’t make the Oscar's shortlist, unfortunately.

Having pre-ordered the soundtrack, was happy to have Jennifer Lewis' "Memory" released today and had a first listen.
Hudson had a rough job. It's a song that's been covered so much and been played to death for it to ever sound impressive or catch your attention. For me, most times when it comes up on a ALW compilation or elsewhere my impulse is to skip it.
But for me Hudson did it, Memory sounded so new and fresh... I'm looking forward to hearing - and yes, seeing - all of it

Twitter reviews from out of work actors don’t count 😘 I never said they were reviews, they’re first reactions and they look pretty healthy. People can take them or leave them as they wish, but for me, it’s an indication of how the reviews will go.

And these initial reactions are pretty much how people reacted to the original stage production of Cats... they thought it was weird, somewhat confusing but were drawn into it and it became a juggernaut.

On the Jennifer Hudson version the ‘sunlight through the trees...’ but is truly dreadful. (I know it’s not her singing it.)
