Sweeney Todd.
Seriously. I want stroke NEED to see it. Not the film, hate that, but a proper production. I only saw it last year in Liverpool but I’ve only seen 3 versions of it so I’m not all sweeney’d out. I love it. I wish that WYP production would get resurrected.

No surprise here but it has to be 4nd Street.
No musical has ever made me so happy as that one did no matter how many times I saw it.

Oh God, don't get me started.
Will literally be of no surprise to anyone that I miss Starlight Express (MASSIVELY!) and Cats at the New London.
And Les Mis (Palace), Miss Saigon (Drury Lane), Sunset Boulevard (Adelphi), 1991 Palladium Joseph and Aspects of Love (original Prince of Wales).
Yeah, I know, *YAWN*
They were my introduction to musical theatre though and just beyond epic. I mean, that Apollo Victoria John Napier set.....

I miss proper ‘Rent’ at the Shaftesbury & Nederlander, ‘Tommy’, ..the noisy clack of the turntable at Les Mis...Siobhan Dillon working in the west end...living in London so you can just pop into town to see something...but mostly ‘Rent’.

Never before have I been so devastated that I wouldn't be able to see something again.
I still listen to the soundtrack at least once a week.

Miss Saigon, especially with Jon Jon and Eva. The amazing 20th anniversary Rent tour and most of that incredible cast. Dreamgirls, wish I’d seen it more, just gotta wait till September fot the tour now! Definitely Sunset Boulevard, and I wish I could see the original production. Legally Blonde, always lots of fun and usually a killer singer as Elle. And of course COMPANY, really wish I could get to Broadway to see it.

And I will no doubt get judged for this, but I do actually miss We Will Rock You - it was utterly preposterous, but the music was great and it was escapism for me.

It looked and sounded great, but that script stank the place out! It needs at least 2/3 to be watchable. If they’ve skimped on the set it won’t matter how great the voices are because they’ll be talking crap against a rubbish backdrop. 😂 |
