I was also rebooked for May. Although I can make the date I’m really not thrilled by the seats I’ve been assigned. I think £65 for row T in the stalls at the very side with restricted view is pretty steep. My seats at the Playhouse were also restricted but I’ve sat there before and knew it was ok and it was worth the price. Now I’m not so sure....

TBH without them giving the details of how they intend to alter the venue to comply with Covid which will still be with us, then I do not see how I can go. Might just get a refund. Sorry. |

I’m turning it over in my mind, but like you Lynette/Jess I’m tempted to get a refund. I was willing to pay £65 for a semi-decent view through a thin safety barrier in Playhouse front dress circle, but I’m not sure dodging round pillars and the overhang in rear stalls T at the Pinter is quite worth the same money. Plus if we’re still wearing masks by then, I wouldn’t feel very comfortable breathing hot air over my face for a couple of hours either...
The only thing I’m wondering is if they might let you pay more for an upgrade (I’ve been lucky enough to have saved a bit in lockdown, so could probably afford to splurge on a seat with a slightly better view). But I can’t remember what the prices were above £65!
And at the back of my mind I’m wondering if there might be some better deals nearer the time...

I too have opted for a refund - not happy with swapping a TheatreMonkey GREEN seat at The Playhouse for a RED at the Harold Pinter and, reading reports above, can't be bothered to call to try and find a better seat. Will take my chances with rebooking when it goes on public sale.

My mum asked me to look at booking this yesterday and the seating plan indicates a normal seating layout - and I told her I am doubtful that social distancing will be no more even by June next year, so suggested we hold off booking for now.
Especially since they're asking for £90 each for decent seats and £150 for 'good' seats.
I mean, I know everyone needs money but I can't see demand bouncing back to that extent by July - even if a vaccine is ready by then it's unlikely to have been rolled out everywhere internationally to the extent that tourism will have recovered.

For sure, that pricing structure is relying on a vaccine. Even then you worry at how the provinces and beyond will have reconsidered their pre-Covid leisure expenditure. Whole bunch of things will never be the same.

It is totally irrational, but now that I am working from home full time and no longer using a season ticket, I really *resent* forking over the money for the train fare to London each time I go into town.
I mean I got my £3k season ticket refund so a few £18 off-peak returns should be a drop in the ocean in comparison - but before the extra travel for leisure was 'free', and now it's often another 50% of the ticket cost on top. It just feels different.

My company switched me from part-London based with a paid season ticket (following a relocation) to completely home-based with about a week's notice a few years back. I had six months worth of theatre booked on the assumption I'd be in London 3 days a week. Parking, train & tube added £30+ to every ticket. I know I saved many hundreds of pounds during the years I enjoyed free travel but the £30+ add-on to my London ticket prices still bugs me out of all proportion! |

Might also mean a rebalancing between London and regional theatre. More touring, more rep, more travelodge .. a regional resurgence!

Mine was too, so I requested a refund and got a call offering me an upgrade. It still wasn't where I wanted to be and rather than enter long negotiations, I took a credit and went back on and re-booked myself ... a 'TheatreMonkey-approved' restricted view seat, much as I'd had at the Playhouse and for a few quid less. |

Resurrecting this, as according to an interview with Elliot Levey in Jewish News rehearsals for this starting within the next few months.
So perhaps looking at September opening?

Dominic Cooke is currently preparing The Corn is Green in previews at the NT. The run will last until June. It’s not co-produced with Fictionhouse unlike The Normal Heart (their first co-prod of NT and Fictionhouse).
Jamie Lloyd’s The Seagull will be from June to September at the Pinter.
If not late September, maybe October at most.
It’s been a while since Dom directed a production at the core West End. He was almost the director for Get Up Stand Up until Clint Dyer took over.

Tennant is currently filming Good Omens and Woolgar will presumably soon be filming Call the Midwife (it usually films in the summer) so if they are both still involved then it will certainly be much later in the year.

Good Omens 2 finished filming a few weeks ago, although Neil Gaiman says it won't be ready till next year. |

After holding on to my money for 2 years I finally requested a refund a month ago. ATG refunded me quickly and no questions asked.
I probably will book to see it when it's announced but I'm not hopeful it'll be anytime soon.
