So, as a member of Curve, i get newsletters and such through, i just got one through the post this morning announcing various shows that are opening at the theatre later this year and in there, casually, was a mention that Love Never Dies would be playing there in September! I dunno if this is as part of a tour or if it's their own production, it doesn't specify. Anyway 26th Sep - 10th October so i guess that seems like a tour stop or it's opening it.

Just been looking for a Love Never Dies thread to post on, but you beat me to it.
Apparently the LND website has been updated in anticipation of a new world tour and there's a page for people to sign up to hear about it

I believe the official LND page has been like that since March last year. Asking for people to sign up for news of an upcoming World Tour. loveneverdieses.blogspot.com/2019/?m=1But yes, I would assume this is finally that world tour (and hopefully not a Kenwright production). |

I wonder if this will be the Millenium centres Christmas show next year will be exciting if it as as we are getting phantom this year. I think it will be this or dreamgirls. ☺️ Exciting if it is one of these two

God, they're intent on foisting this monstrosity on everyone. And before someone says it, the score alone does not justify the show. Most of the score is recycled anyway from WIW, Sunset, and the Beautiful Game anyway.
It'll bomb. The US tour did not recoup, I don't think...and their plan on ending it with a limited engagement on Broadway never materialised.

A tough sell, if they’re struggling to shift the POTO tour tickets this doesn’t stand a chance. I enjoyed aspects of the Australian version but christ it’s dark isn’t it? I might go as far as saying a bit depressing?
I’ll be there though 😋

I'll never forget seeing the original production and Ramin as the Phantom in the original production.
(I also think it's a better musical than Phantom of the Opera but hey, maybe that's just me!)
Thrilled it'll be coming back, but it'll have to be scaled down I would have thought to tour. Be interested to see in what way it's adapted.

The current Phantom world tour souvenir brochure had an insert about Love Never Dies ‘coming soon to a city near you’ but I think I half convinced myself it was some sort of rogue error.
I’m quite surprised this is touring (either in the U.K. or potentially worldwide) but I guess they’ll try and draw in the audiences who go to see the tour of Phantom to go see the sequel a few months later.

Whilst flawed, I loved the original London production of it. The Australian Production is better in all respects though, and goes some way in fixing some of its problems. The score is the show’s crowning glory though. I have been listening to it today and it is just glorious! I can’t wait to see this on tour. Here’s hoping it goes on sale soon! |

Oh my. I saw this numerous times in London, initially disliking it feeling it was somewhat overly dramatic. But listened to the CD and saw it again. . And again .. Probably every 6 weeks through the run. I will absolutely be seeing this again.

Fantastic news! I loved this - and am another who thought it was so much better than Phantom. Hmm, this year's list of shows to book is getting ridiculously long and it's only January!

Great news, loved it. The London production was ever changing but there was far more good than bad in there. I too enjoy it far more than Phantom, and hope this time it gets the creative attention it deserves. Preferably before it opens this time!

I too loved the show in London and particularly because of Ramin. It’s so other worldly and the music is amazing. Can’t wait to see it again.

Unless they decide to surprise with new staging *cough cough looking at you Phantom Of The Opera 2020 UK tour cough*, they will most likely just re-use the sets from the Australian production. They did that for the Japanese production and the US tour. Though the Australian production is far superior and addresses a lot of concerns from London, theres still a few things that I think they shouldn't have cut out like the "Madame Giry Confronts Phantom" scene. |

Sorry, much as I hoped LND would live up to its predecessor, it arrived in the creative slump of ALW's career. A few competent melodies but overall everybody turned up without a coherent story to tell.
The key missing person who might have saved the show was Hal Prince, but for probably very sensible reasons, he wasn't part of the process.
Love Never Dies is ocular proof that ALW was not the root of Phantom's success.

My friend who is familiar with the Aussie production and seen the US tour production told me the sets are already a reduced version as the extravagant Aussie sets weren't the most tour-able.
Technology is supposed to reduce the complexity of the sets' operation, not their design, which unfortunately has seemed to be the case with each new restaging of Phantom or Les Mis.

Cannot comprehend how anyone can think this is a better show than the original Phantom. The plot is contrived, predictable and cheesy (thank Ben Elton for that), the songs do not cohere and are recycled from past projects, the lyrics are the worst for any ALW show, the characters are deformed and distorted beyond recognition, and the plot completely goes against the storyline and spirit of the original.
And to think 10 years ago they thought this was going to open simultaneously across the world and become a monster hit; such hubris.
