I thought that was a very strange elimination. What criteria are the panel using when they make their decision, when objectively Piece of Cake sang far better than Rubbish? Lulu herself seemed a bit shocked to be the first one to go. It was almost as if it was rigged to go against her... The two worst singers (Rubbish and Pigeon) went head to head, where she was up against arguably the best performance of the evening (Rhino), and she was then eliminated when she was by no means the worst of the Bottom three... I remeber watching the first show of the of the first season of masked dancer and Jordon Banjo was elimiated first (I can't remeber what charater he was) they kept 'Beetroot' in over him. Jordan banjo did a very energetic and dynamic dance whilst beetroot did a sashshaying around and posing number. I could not understancd why they choose beetroot; who ended up being Dita Von Teese. I'm a big fan of hers but noway should she have been saved. I was listing to a podcast with her about a year later and she breifly spoke about it, saying that when she was asked to do the show in London she said yes and that she wanted to stay in Claridges. I wonder if another condition of her doing the show was that she was to be in it a min of 2 weeks? Perhaps certain celebs are to be kept in? Or as Justfran said some charaters are more entertaining than others, e.g Donuts from last year. |

I would guess because Piece of Cake was so easily identifiable (I got it in the first few lines of her song), they'll be keen to keep the characters that will keep audiences speculating for longer. |

I'm almost certain that Baked Potato is Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves). I'm a big fan and recognize his singing voice and mannerisms. Having said that I'm surprised Jonathan Ross hasn't guessed it's him (yet) as they're old friends.

I'm almost certain that Baked Potato is Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves). I'm a big fan and recognize his singing voice and mannerisms. JR did say the other day that someone gets revealed who is a very good friend of his and he had no idea. |

Rhino - Charlie Simpson
The rest I’m very much less sure about it. Phoenix I thought might be Ricky Wilson or Arthur Darvill. Otter is maybe Julie Walters? She seems like the type to do something for a laugh. Rubbish clues pointed to a snooker player but that seemed like a red herring. The others I’m drawing a blank on to be honest.

I've just rewatched the Jellyfish performance and I think you're right, I can definitely hear Amber's trademark riffs and belt in there. Having her compete so soon after winning the US one would be totally unexpected so it'll be hard to guess. You're clever! I think you're right on Claire and Charlie as well, but Fawn sounds like someone slightly older than Natalie Appleton. |

Yeah so not a chance that Jellyfish is anyone except Amber Riley. The little mermaid reference as she was in Little Mermaid Live. Good Magic tape as she was Good Witch of the North in The Wiz Live. Her artist name is RILEY aka mononymous. There was even a point where she said “I’m not telling yous”!
Phoenix is Ricky Wilson. Didn’t expect to tread the boards = Artilleryman in War Of The Worlds. Magical and film clues = cameo in Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Pt 1. Football reference = ambassador for Leeds United Foundation.
Knitting goes without saying, that’s Claire from Steps. The fade to black Scared Of The Dark clue was very on the nose. As was future in 2 halves clue = What The Future Holds album Pt 1 and Pt 2.
Otter remains the biggest mystery of that group for me!

Shr could have quite easily taken the days off to film it, unless you know she had a 100% percent attendance rate?
However, I thought it was her based on what I heard laat night, without any of the clues or previous performances. Bur after listening to 'Memory' It has to be Claire Richards.

I think Fawn is one of the members of All Saints (cargo = cargo pants, which they were well known for wearing. Marmalade = they sang a version of Lady Marmalade. Platinum = they had platinum selling albums). I’d guess Melanie Blatt.

I've never watched the programme in full, I just don't think I could stand it. I've just liked hearing some of my favourite singers sing some well known material (that isn't their own).
What is the object of the game? The winner wins on what criteria?
I've seen a common comment saying real singers often don't do well and get knocked out early on - why is this?

Voting has been awful this season, and probably last too. Awful acts who can’t sing are being kept in over good singers because they are funny. I know the UK version is meant to be a Saturday night family entertainment show, which is why they don’t take it seriously, especially the panel and their guesses, but this is why I prefer the US version because it’s much more like X Factor. They have better singers, bigger stars, a great panel who make real guesses, and whatever you think of Nick Cannon he’s a really good host. It’s a proper singing competition. |
