They are gradually changing more of the tickets in the upper circle to £35, so I won't begrudge if I can pick up a £70 or a £90 for £35 in a few days time. Worth keeping an eye on for people who are holding out.

(In a lower key...) In the original key that the song was written, actually. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Me_and_the_Sky_(Come_from_Away)

People said that about her Me and the Sky when the first video was released and then she proceeded on delivering the best version of the song that had ever been sung. When I saw it in previews it was certainly a fine performance but it was a long way off flawless. I think the sensible point of view is that you can't judge a performance on the basis of rehearsal footage. In the Broadwayworld video for this, she's not nailing the placement on some of her high notes but it's still an impressive performance, and it's not the finished article. SJB's voice is an actual force of nature, I'm not sure anyone would be beat her in a sing-off, but Rachel Tucker is a fantastic West End performer and I'd be excited to see her in this if only I could afford to buy a ticket...

I’m in the underwhelmed camp I’m afraid, just as I was seeing her in CFA. Lovely performance but I found the big vocal I’d been expecting to be sadly lacking, and replaced by a quite thin strained sound.

I *so* want to see this after seeing the rehearsal video but am holding off to see if there are some bigger discounts. Even the tickets discounted over 50% to £50 are a bit rich for my blood but I will do it if nothing better emerges. When I was at the Coliseum for Sweeney Todd with Bryn Terfal and Emma Thompson, paying £70ish for a seat in which I could barely see or hear, I vowed never to go back so i’m wary about what you actually actually get for your money.

Earlier in this thread, I commented that Rachel really seemed to be struggling with this song (that was after hearing the version that EP played on the radio). In the rehearsal video, I was much more convinced by her performance. Yes, there are probably some tweaks to make to the performance, but I thought it was a significantly better version than the first one I heard. Incidentally, does anyone know where and when the version EP played was recorded?

Out of interest, where did you sit? I've only ever sat front stalls in the Coliseum so I'm keen to avoid anywhere rubbish!

My recollection is that everyone in front of me was leaning right forward so I could barely see the stage and the sound was terrible. Can’t believe I paid what I did but it was supposed to be a really special one off. I was so angry by the end and haven’t been back since but Rachel T and Hannah W are luring me in!

Currently the rear dress circle is available through WhatsOnStage for £50 but I'm tempted to keep holding out. A lot of the stalls is still empty so surely they'll look to discount that soon otherwise it'll just look weird!

Okay, but still a lower key than the song is known for.

Ditto - I knew the Upper Circle wouldn't offer great views, but thought I'd at least be able to hear it. Left very disappointed and on return visits (Sunset Boulevard) I've gone front stalls, reasoning that if I'm making the effort to go and see a show I really want to see, I'm going to have to pay mega bucks. However I don't know anything about The Pirate Queen so for curiosity value I'm not springing into 3 figure ££'s. Waiting for a discount or I'm not going.

That upper circle is really disappointing - the rear dress circle has a far better view and is more comfortable for the same price. Oddly, I'd take even the second row balcony over it, too. I sat second row balcony for Sunset Boulevard, and it was fine really, if very distant.

For those that have been waiting - ticket prices for this have now plummeted on the official site.
In stalls in particular many seats that were over 150 quid are now 70.
About time!

The £50 tickets on London Theatre Direct are now front dress circle rather that rear which seems like a pretty good deal to me. I might wait a little bit longer as the deals are coming in now but I think that's a pretty good one.

I've been keeping an eye on tickets for the past couple of days, as finally decided to see this over Zorro! I think this will be our only chance to see anything Pirate Queen related, as if ticket sales are anything to go by, theres not the demand for it haha!

A week to go.
I keep checking the website for a good discount but still lots of unsold seats at expensive prices. I really don't want to pay fifty quid and have a bad view.
Hopefully, we will see this on Today Tix over the coming week.

No sign of any more deals and big chunks of tickets keep disappearing off sale so I can’t see discounts happening anytime soon.

Weirdly it appeared as a shaded out square on Todaytix this afternoon, so I set an alert for when it would go on sale, alert came up saying they had £35 tickets and then as soon as I was in the app the whole page for the show completely disappeared. So maybe TT will have some tomorrow, I happened to have my phone in my hand when the alert came through so it definitely wasn’t them selling out of the tickets instantly.
