One of my favourite plays and she is a great actress. My other half is a Chastain fan too, though knows nothing about the play. Will certainly be booking for this and seeing how he fares with a bit of Ibsen!
Fully agree that she will have to pull something remarkable out of the bag to equal or better Hattie Morahan in the role though. WHAT a performance!

My guess would be based on a deep analysis of “Pointless” that, in the population as a whole, I’m in the majority. Maybe last year that would have been true, but she's just done an X-Men film, so is probably considerably better known now. But yes, if you want a sense of how good she is, watch Zero Dark Thirty. |

I saw her in The Heiress and totally forot uuntil now. She has no stage presence and zero charisma on stage unfortunately. Plus a JL production will be so flashy and weird?

This is exciting and will be a hot ticket.
I can understand why people feel they don’t know who she is as she hasn’t really been in many (any?) movies that she is the principle name selling it - even as lead in Thirty Dark Zero, I don’t think the advertising pushed her as a name. She seems to opt for roles with a strong cast instead.
Still, her filmography is impressive: Thirty Dark Zero, The Help, Interstellar, The Martian, IT 2, Tree of Life, Molly’s Game and Dark Phoenix are all strong movies.
The question is whether tickets will be reasonably priced for the younger audience she will bring with her.

The other obvious question (surely not for me alone?) is why yet more blasted Ibsen, and this one, too? A Doll's House is rarely off the London stage and there are sometimes even overlapping productions. Jessica Chastain in fine in film but I'd never go to a play for the names, though a cast including actors I rate would be a plus, as would actors I don't rate be a deterrent.

I love Ibsen but yes i agree some of others would be welcome, John Gabriel Borkman for instance has three big roles including two female. Im still waiting for Lady Inga of Ostraat which is surely worth someone reviving? |

I wonder what’s going to fill the gap between Cyrano and A Doll’s House Baz says it's still being negotiated. Apparently there will be three productions in the season. Hmmm, any rumours what it might be? |

I suspect it's what she wanted to play Yes, she’s wanted to play it on Broadway for some time. This will transfer there after playing in the West End, obviously only with the lead-leads. |

What was the point in getting people to sign up in advance if you aren't going to do a presale properly? Though at those prices I think I'll be day seating - early mornings aren't half as bad in summer. I notice it is only 7 shows per week for some parts of the run as well. |

Booked central row D, the JL season is proving popular and availability didn’t ease for Cyrano with even the ‘relatively’ cheap stalls seats being difficult to get.
This year has been mainly sub £30 seats so far and therefore this can fortunately be absorbed in my aim of no more than £30 average ticket price for the year.

I'm fairly sure that all the Jamie Lloyd productions will be in the NT Live season. But maybe not. Either way, I ain't crippling myself to pay them cray cray prices!

Cyrano is in the Jamie Lloyd season and that has a scheduled NT Live. They are missing a trick not to have The Seagull and A Doll's House also in there because they would also both get big international audiences. Plus it's the only way I plan to see it. So let's stay positive and say that there a 90% chance?  |

I booked tickets today , row D.. aren't they selling any stalls rows A, B or C ? I didn't see any for any date
and what's the difference between a Full price Jamie Lloyd ticket and a full price non Jamie Lloyd ? the prices were the same. I didn't understand that

Booked for the first preview (just fitted my schedule, next day will be first Sunday in the Park preview), last seat in the front row Dress Circle. Normally want/must sit close to the stage but nothing before row G available. Oh well...
