Amazing they put all that up just to film it. Really hope the show can have a limited season in the West End as part of its European tour.

I was never a huge Spongebob fan (his laugh was like nails down a chalkboard!), but that said, this looks like so much fun I'll most likely tune in for a look.

If it worked at the Plymouth Theatre Royal wonder where it would ‘fit’ in London?

If it worked at the Plymouth Theatre Royal wonder where it would ‘fit’ in London? Apparently a European Tour is planned?? Most of the cast seem to currently still be in the UK. Danny Skinner is travelling across Europe on holiday (his instagram).

Have been listening to the soundtrack from the Broadway show on my daughter’s recommendation...it is quite brilliant imo.

A much better fit for The Dominion than Big was.

Have been listening to the soundtrack from the Broadway show on my daughter’s recommendation...it is quite brilliant imo. The original cast recording is from the show's Chicago run, they changed a lot of the song lyrics for Broadway. Most notably, the actors who played Plankton and Mr Krabs on broadway sound more like the Tv show characters.

They have just finished filming the show. It will be aired on December 7 on every Nickelodeon channel everywhere. Presumably this didn't happen in the UK, alas. Do you know why ?

As a Christmas treat, I finally allowed myself some time to watch this. Apart from a clip of Plankton rapping that surfaced on twitter, I didn’t really know anything about this, although I am familiar with the cartoon (I wasn’t particularly into it, but my sister was).
So, my thoughts: the show is absolutely bonkers, but in the best way possible. It’s such a nice feel-good show. They managed to translate the cartoon into a musical in a very clever and impressive way. The costumes are great and I thought that Squidward’s costume in particular was brilliant. Plankton & his song were among the highlights for me. So smart how they translated the cartoon Plankton to a person. A very good actor. And Plankton is rapping! Oh wow. Absolutely brilliant. The other main highlight was Spongebob. What a great actor. His physicality is something from a different planet.
Fingers crossed it will make its way to the UK/Europe soon so that I can see and experience the show in all its live glory!
