Something for everyone here... the ladies of a certain age, the gents of a certain persuasion, the coach-parties from the provinces, the hens from hell ...
No?

The link says special announcment on Britain's Got Talent final. At the very start of the semis Simon Cowell said there would be a special announcement so I guess the winner is going to be in Magic Mike as the vegas show has variety acts between the strippers. What if the 4 year old kid wins then?

I look forward to the tour, presumably with Jake Quickenden, Ray Quinn, a few ex Hollyoaks lads, and whoever crashes out of X Factor this year.

So you call yourself a gent do you, @caiaphas ? Well I once held a door open for a lady; she thanked me and gave me a house point. (I was also allowed to collect the milk for the whole of that week which got me out of daily tables practice for at least 10 minutes ...)

Eh? 30. (It was during the 70s when there was the three day week.) You see... I didn’t even need to practise. (And I know my nouns from my verbs... )

Ah, those we're the days, when a gentleman could hold open a door for a lady!

Ah, those we're the days, when a gentleman could hold open a door for a lady! Well in those days we all considered Miss Tibidabo a lady... She was strict but fair, although a little mean when giving out the house points, so when she gave me that one for holding the door open I felt as if I’d really earned it. She didn’t do bad job though, all things considered: I still know my tables and I know the difference between practice and practise. If you’d been in her class with me she’d have also taught you how to be a true gent, TallPaul. She might have also taught you the were/we’re/wear/where/weir rules... I almost forgot to mention that she helped me decide on my chosen career- I’m now a milkman.

I mean they just performed on BGT.
There was literally 40 of them, doing massive dance routines, acrobatics and trapeze. Have the producers not actually seen the size of the hippodrome casino theatre stage? It's the size of a postage stamp. The room itself not much bigger.
How on earth?

Just seen there website... two shows a night.... booking from November till April next year.... tickets from £29 Theatres being refurbished for it. Does that include making it 10 times it's current size? Because i'm baffled how it's going to fit. All i can think of is that the BGT performance was showing off and overselling it.

I might get a bit of stick for this from some people, but how is it right that it is ok for men to be topless and dancing while being sexually ogled by mainly women but if it was the other way round there’s would be outrage is seen as vastly inappropriate. It baffles me.

It baffles me. Maybe it wouldn’t baffle you if you ever had to think twice about walking down a street alone at night, always made sure you left full details of where you are going before you go on a date with a stranger or if had got used to having remarks about your tits yelled at you by builders by the time you were thirteen. The ingrained, unbalanced power dynamic between men and women puts men in a position of power over women. So there’s no equivalence.

Isn't Stringfellows literally just round the corner from the Hippodrome? Y'all might want to check facts (or even just engage your brain) before starting in on the "WHAT IF IT WAS THE OTHER WAY ROUND WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE POOR MEN" rhetoric. It has been the other way round for *literally centuries*. A Chippendale here and a Magic Mike there isn't even scratching the surface of redressing the imbalance.

I was also surprised when they said The Hippodrome. It's tiny and not sure how the theatre can be extended unless it goes back more. So if they take up residency then no more of those lovely MT related shows I guess. Going up the escalator at London Bridge it was full of adverts for this. Can you pay for private dances?
