Don't get despondent. You're halfway there.
How about Leeds 19.22 arrive Doncaster 20.07, advance fare £3.80, then Doncaster 20.25, arrive Cambridge 22.40, advance fare £16.60, with a change at Stevenage ? Total £20.40

Whoops. I didn't read your other post about Marriage of Figaro properly. Sorry! I do hope you are able to get there.

Total £20.40 I'll look into that route but I'm not sure I'd want to risk the 19.22 as the piece runs a good 3 hours so by the time I've extricated myself from the theatre & walked back to the station I fear it may be cutting it too fine.

Hold fire, Dawn. This may be better. Leeds 20.15 to Peterborough arrive 21.49 costs £10.70, then Peterborough 22.14 to Cambridge arrives 23.03 costs £11.80, total £22.50
(Note to mods - I've just set up a new thread for this kind of discussion which I hope will meet with approval)

How long is a typical performance of this? Might be staying with a friend with Bradford but would also like to meet a real life Dame so worried about catching trains. Can we expect the full Opera North Orchestra involved like with Light in the Piazza? How big was the orchestra for Into the Woods? Thanks

I think it's around 2.5 hours plus interval.
Woods had a small orchestra of 10 ish players. It wasn't the opera north orchestra as they were performing The Ring on tour. To my knowledge no other operas are planned so I suspect we will get the full orchestra. Fingers crossed!

A Little Night Music cancelled... Not until mid May so devastated that this has been shelved too. Was so looking forward to making the trip up north. Sondheim's 90th has been spoiled

I somehow missed it, but there was an announcement a few days ago that, "In the coming weeks Opera North and Leeds Playhouse will confirm summer 2021 dates for...A Little Night Music."
What's the betting that it clashes with the Buxton production?

I had a ticket for this last year but sadly don't think I'm likely to be able to get to Leeds for it this year, given it's about 3 hours each way by train for me. It might depend on when exactly "summer" turns out to be. I would really like to see Quirijn de Lang as Frederik in particular.

Unless it's coming later, this morning's announcement doesn't include A Little Night Music. There's opera, dance and music...but no musical.
Leeds Playhouse is going to announce further details of its reopening season "in the next few weeks", so if there's nothing further today, it will probably be included in that.

A distinct lack of casting info - do many people book ALNM for the Madame Armfeldt? - but the mid-June to mid-July dates make me think I might be able to go after all, as I should have my 2nd jab the first week in July so if I booked for the last week of the run...
