I was at the first preview tonight and thought this was really good.
Good story & character building and pretty much everyone acted their socks off, particularly the main two characters.
A lot of the time was reminded of summer and smoke which really isn't a bad thing.
Enjoyed the Spanish singing and her character which added hugely to the overall atmosphere.
All came together in an excellent ending which may well need a little bit of tidying up but nothing drastic.
Overall a pretty decent 4.5 / 5

Happy to hear it's good! I got a message today that I've won in one of those ticket lotteries, could have gotten a £5 ticket for tonight, but decided to skip because I already booked for October to go with a friend who would not be able to come tonight, and it somehow seemed more fun to share actual first impressions for both of us. I really wanted to see this after I'd seen Marc Brenner's rehearsal photos. (I absolutely love his photographs in general, they are always so "alive" and make theatre look so exciting!) Fingers crossed I'll like it too!

I attended tonight’s performance and agree wholeheartedly with catcat100’s comments. I originally booked a £20 seat and managed to get a front row seat. A very good production and performances from the entire cast. With a run time of 2hrs straight through and the seating configuration of 3/4 in the round ( the other 1/4 used for performance space), the production has taken the original text and changed the location to a reimagined village situated inrural Ireland and uses Hibernian English language. The production does have a very minimalist set with a few tables and chairs so requires you to do a fair bit of work in fleshing out the different locations during the play as no backdrops are used here. The cast here are fantastic with Olwen Fouere as the tough uncompromising mother of the Groom being the standout for me with her delivery of some great dry Irish humour though the other cast were just as good. A big shout out to Thalissa Teixeira as the Moon who provided some beautiful Spanish singing during various points. The play doesn’t let up in its action and certainly kept me fully engaged for the entire time. As an aside, there aren’t any particular warnings for this production for those who have booked or maybe thinking of booking.
