Mr B said this was coming in for the festive season to The Drury Lane. Thoughts?

I thought there were a few good songs at OAT - the makings of a good show but that the direction was a bit messy. I'm off to see it at Canterbury so will report back! Although Kym Marsh isn't performing in Canterbury (nor Norwich, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oxford and Brighton.) Oh blimey, do we know who is? Takes stunt casting to a whole new level.

Like, no one wakes up in the morning saying "OMG.. I can't wait for Elf to come back to the West End"

In my heart, I love the idea of whatever the reimagined version of LOTR becomes including Drury Lane as part of its international tour, but then I'm shamelessly sentimental. I'm pretty confident it won't be 101 Dalmatians, but Mr Barnaby is right so often, even when appearing to be joking could possibly yet be proven right!

I’m just pleased that the 101D tour is bypassing Bristol so we aren’t clogged up with another week of tat!

I think they’re confirming Stacey as the third Cruella at midday.

No! Lol. Can you imagine? No, it’s Dooley being announced. I mean, Stacey Solomon can sing so I don't see her as any worse choice than dooley. In fact she might be preferable

I saw Faye Tozer in the production of Singing in the Rain at Saddlers Wells and I though she as really great!
Kept in character and the accent up in both her acting and singing.

I'm seeing the show in Canterbury and very happy to have Faye, saw her in a few things and she is definitely more enticing than Kim!

The desperation of this production is a wonder to behold.
Kerry Katona to be announced as the 3rd Cruella

Faye’s great and I’ll happily travel a long way to see her. Sadly she’s only down for four dates near me - nowhere near. No desire to see Kym Marsh.

Looks like a cast recording is on its way as they’ve released “Animal Lover” by Kym Marsh on Spotify

This song may possibly have the worst lyrics I have ever heard in a professional theatre production.

The songs I’ve heard from this have all been absolutely terrible.

Saw this in Norwich last night and it's been significantly improved since Regent's Park. The dreadful "influencer" plot has gone and Cruella is back to being her recognisable self (and Faye was absolutely brilliant). Much better costumes and sets. Puppetry still delightful and it works really well. The book is tighter and doesn't waste as much time on the human owners now. The songs could still be more memorable but they're better than they were. It's all clearly been worked on a lot since 2022 and it shows.

That's good to hear - never saw it at the Open Air but looking forward to seeing it in Canterbury this week.
