The set on Broadway was downright ugly and cheap so I fully expect this to be an even worse touring version of it, as it will be touring after the London run. I don’t know how it’s possible to make the set look even cheaper than the broadway one, but that insta post ain’t filling me with hope 😬😆

Did anyone go tonight and have the understudy list?

Danny Mac in anything (or out of them preferably) would make me forgive most things. Still flushing hot and cold from his Sunset Boulevard swimming trunks Act 2 opener. On which topic are the leads scheduled for all performances in this?

I thought this was had potential tonight. Organised, started almost on time and finished by 10pm.
Yes, the sets are nothing special. Some parts of the set reminded me of Mamma Mia. I haven't seen this on Broadway to compare it.
The two leads are excellent and the music was better than expected. The whole show is rather cheesy and Act One is much stronger than Act Two. Very few laughs in the second half (or things that worked in the US weren't working in the UK).
I was two rows from the back of the Stalls in the "cheap" seats and the rake was horrible. Missed a big chunk of the stage as there was no way to see around the (average height) woman in front. But it didn't matter too much for this show.
The audience was well-behaved, but the many people working for the production were a distraction. I had a woman taking notes sat next to me, she did try to not disturb anyone but had to keep checking her phone screen, which was set at maximum brightness. Several noticeable conversations behind too, mostly from the sound desk, who clearly hadn't got the timing and sound balance right yet. For the first few songs, the band way overpowered the vocals. Luckily it's a very easy story to understand.
For the Danny Mac fans, you get a brief glimpse of his nipples, but it's covered up in a tasteful fashion very quickly. The only full topless body you see is one of the male ensemble.
Very surprised for a first preview that it took a long time for the audience to get on their feet. Not until the two leads and then it took about 30 seconds to get everyone up.
Then, to finish, they sing about half of Pretty Woman, but you can't hear the vocals as everyone claps in whatever pattern works for them.
I would like to see it again from near the front, but I'm not desperate to go and I'll happily wait until the prices drop. I did quite enjoy it, but it just wasn't one of those special memorable nights that first previews often are.

They left a rose on every seat tonight for Valentine's Day.
Nice touch.

A red Rose indeed on every seat tonight. Stalls C24 and I blooming loved this! Lots of comedy elements, super cast! I'd need to hear the songs again (and you better believe I'm planning another visit). I was madly entertained.

What the holy - - - the prices on this are wild! I paid a pricey £85 for this hoping for Andy Karl/ Sam Barks ... £175 for front row!?! Wow.
Good to see you, CG on the loose!

I did the same trawl for tickets when I got back to my hotel ... figured front row might be nice. £175?!! You’ve got to be kidding! Really enjoyed the show though - for second preview (and first last night from up in the gods), it’s in brilliant shape. I will be back... but maybe front row of the top deck again!

I can understand the stalls front row being premium priced for early performances, as the show has sold well and there's little availability for the first couple of months. Just dynamic pricing really. However looking months ahead , eg Wednesday 19 August, row A is still an extortionate £175, with no goodies, but row B a reasonable £72.50. First time I've encountered such a massive price difference. At music concerts the front row is highly sought after but not so at musical theatre. Indeed at the musical, admittedly an amateur production, I've just returned from tonight, I had the front row all to myself and unless someone else books in the next 12 hours I will do again tomorrow afternoon at a different show.

Who is asking how high is the stage? It's low. Front row would, I imagine, be perfect head height. There are a couple of scenes where each main lead is lying on the floor and in 3rd row I struggled to see their faces.
Bob Harms as Happy Man (and other roles - no spoilers) was superb. Alex Charles as the bell boy - also superb. Their scenes together we're joyous.

Im off to see this at the end of March. Not something I would normally have booked but a friend had done a group booking so the tickets were quite reasonable so thought id give it a go. Just been listening to the music and its not too bad at all. A few power ballads which are very forgettable but one or two nice songs so think it will be a fun night out.

Had this on my list but it sounds like the poor man's version with Bark's lost to the ice, Danny not my idea of a Richard Gere, a cast that doesn't say buy me you know i am good, and more silly Broadway prices . Anyone want to encourage me to go?

I need more production photos! I'm actually really looking forward to seeing this. I love the cast recording: "I Can't Go Back", "Together Forever", "Welcome To Hollywood" and "You're Beautiful" are on heavy rotation.

Also, producer Paula Wagner and Aimie Atkinson were on BBC Breakfast this morning! Was quite near the end, around 8.50ish. Available on iPlayer for those who want to catch up.

I listen to Heart radio every morning and they're advertising this show saying that it's playing for a limited run.
As my parents are visiting from abroad in July my sister wants to take my mother to see it, so I went down to the theatre on Saturday to determine exactly how long this limited run is; we don't want to run the risk of finding that it's not running by the time the folks arrive and the woman at the box office said that it was selling really well- in fact there was a sign stating Sold Out- and the it will run till (at least) January 2021.

I’m sure we already knew it was playing till early next year but it will leave the Piccadilly then to make way for Moulin Rouge which opens in March. I believe Pretty Woman is then heading out on tour.

Does anyone know if Danny Mac has any holidays planned, I’d hate to spend a lot to see an understudy, no matter how good that guy may be.

After my Friday night high of seeing this I purchased a ticket for what is, at the moment, showing as the last performance, Saturday 2 January 2021. Figured it might at least be a cast change. I haven't seen 9 to 5, didn't appeal to me, so can't make the comparison between this show and that.
