Surprised there isn’t a thread here yet for one of the best selling shows at the National this upcoming season. Very excited to see Alex Jennings and Lindsay Duncan on stage together at the Lyttleton Theatre. Any insider details, comments related to the show, cast and creative team welcome.

Booked for September 4th. Availability of tickets very pleasingas more tickets seem to be released each day. Was heartbroken when the first batch of tickets went I sale and sold out within the week initially. Any one have any experience of Simon Woods or Simon Goodwin’s work?

Is this a two person play then? I would’ve thought there’d be more characters considering the themes of this play. Still both actors have enough star power to deliver through a show on their own merits I’m sure.

Seems an inappropriate venue to say the least. |

It has sold out its run i think. Nah, tickets still widely available towards the latter half of the run. And it will be interesting. Two Simons, Alex Jennings and Lindsay Duncan. Do you reckon Alex will be better here than his role in Light in the Piazza? |

I really hope so. He wasn't very good at all in Light in the Piazza and his Italian accent was atrocious

I really hope so. He wasn't very good at all in Light in the Piazza and his Italian accent was atrocious It was a little exaggerated but I wouldn’t call it atrocious. I’m personally more excited about seeing Lindsay Duncan. It’s been a good couple years since she last performed on stage and I hear shes got quite a presence. Also, if this is a two person play, does this mean no one will dress up as the fox? |

It has sold out its run i think. Even of it has sold out (it hasn’t) poor reviews and the NT’s returns policy would ensure it un-sells-out. Has there ever been a two-handed play in the Lyttelton before ? I can’t think of any. I can think of a few which almost are (No Man’s Land, Rozencrantz & Guildenstern) but not an actual one. |

I don’t really agree with speculating that this will receive poor reviews with both leads being Olivier Award winners and it seems unlikely that any would stage anything that audiences are unlikely to warm towards. Also booked for the Conversation with Alex and Lindsay on November 14th. There seems to be a lot of talks/workshops related to this play even though it’s got quite a short run |

And also possibly Landscape? Yes Happy Days was one certainly. Landscape - yes a two-hander - the Penelope Wilton one was in the Cottesloe. The Simon Russell-Beale one was in the Lyttelton but part of a double bill so not really a stand-alone two-hander. I couldn’t find any others. |
