When I saw the title, wondered if Victoria Beckham was doing a tour as she didn't want to do the Spice Girls one.

One of the best plays I have ever seen.
So glad it is touring, hope to catch it again, some pauses in the schedule, so I expect some more dates to be added.

Only seen the all female cast at the Pleasance a few year’s ago which I enjoyed and will likely look to catch this on Tour.

Has anyone heard of the producer of this, 'Joe Prentice Productions'?

Has anyone heard of the producer of this, 'Joe Prentice Productions'? Joe Prentice, the sole director, is 22 years old (he turns 23 during the tour). The company's registered office is a bay-windowed semi in New Malden.

Only seen the film version. I loathed the characters to the extent I physically couldn't watch them for the duration of it.

Query: exactly how drunken & debauched does this get? Is there any simulated vomiting or simulated sex? I've looked up the plot & it sounds like there is the potential for both, which worries me. I had no intetnion of seeing it but now they've announced the full cast there's an actor I like in it so I'd like to see it to see him but only if the piece itself isn't going to be too much for me.

Seeing it in Bath, so can report back if you’re planning to see it on the dates after Bath.

I have looked up the plot & watched trailers but they don't indicate exactly how drunken & debauched it ends up getting. I don't have a problem with them being nasty, throwing things around, etc. only if there's simulated vomiting or sex acts.

There’s heavy drinking so could easily be simulated throwing up.
Loved the original. Shame this isn’t coming up north.

As has been said there is a lot of drinking and there was "vomiting" into a bin bag. In addition there wasn't simulated sex although there was a Pinteresque threatening scene where they play a game to see who will be first to sexually assault the waitress. There is a physical assault (not involving the waitress). Uncomfortable as it is (and topical, as a member of the Bullingdon club - on which the play is based - is now Prime Minister), it is an excellent play that sheds light on how the other (Tw*t) half live.

Just home from press night. Far from the worst thing I have seen. But there is evidence that this is a first time producer. Some corners cut that need not have been. Very young cast - many of whom are current (non acting) undergraduates.
Really poorly behaved audience around me. Tiniest bladders in the world

oxfordsimon Aha, someone who has seen it. May I repeat my query from the previous page: given the plot involves heavy dirnking, is there any simulated vomiting?

There are a few moments of someone miming something into a black plastic bag - but not much by way of attempts at faking wretching noises. So yes, there is 'simulated' but only just 'simulated' - if that makes sense. It is more visual than audio, if that helps Dawnstar

I did just about cope with it but found it pretty unpleasant, especially as the character wasn't being sick just die to drinking too much. I can't say I enjoyed the play overall but I suppose it's good for one to see something outside one's comfort zone. If it's even a remotely acurate portrait of Oxford then I'm glad I failed to get in! (I went to Bristol, so did find the "How do you make an Eton mess? Tell him he only got into Bristol" rather amusing.) The ones scene I did sort of like was when they were wrecking the dining room in slow motion to the accompaniment of Swan Lake. Sadly the theatre was at most a quarter full. Maybe it would have sold better if had been on when the Cambridge students were up.

As someone who was at Oxford just a couple of years behind the infamous Bullingdon Club group who inspired the writing of the play, as a piece it certainly didn't reflect my experience of being a student. Sure I wasn't part of any dining clubs but the piece is a clearly a caricature of that sort of excessive behaviour written to make a rather blunt point. There are a few good lines - but it isn't a subtle or nuanced piece (and it isn't pretending to be)
Sorry you found it unpleasant from the sickness perspective. I tried to be as accurate as I could in our earlier discussion - but it is always difficult to gauge how things will affect others.
Poor sales - that is affecting many shows and the inexperience of the team behind the production is showing in many areas - including promotion. The casting isn't high profile in any way - so no real names to drive numbers.
Good on them for trying - hopefully they will learn for next time (if they can afford it)

Good on them for trying - hopefully they will learn for next time (if they can afford it) From what I saw Tyger Drew-Honey seems to be considered the "name" in it, for instance he was the only cast member named on the Cambridge Arts Theatre website. Not that I'd heard of him & I don't think he's the sort of name that would draw the mostly older audience that usually frequents the Arts. At least it's a short tour, with only the 5 venues, so hopefully the production team have enough finance for that & it won't have to be pulled early like a number of tours have been recently.

He was the 'name' but he was also making his stage debut - so no track record of bringing in theatre audiences. Plus I am not sure the audience for Outnumbered was an immediate crossover potential for Posh (at least in huge numbers)
