tkts.co.uk for the latest info. They usually do something, but the £25 deal is often cheaper. Going on Boxing Day (Thursday) and want to try and do the two shows. Will keep that in mind. Thanks. |

Does anyone know what the day seat policy is for the play? Going to see Ghost Quartet next week and would like to get tickets for evening performance of this. Loads of seats left, but too expensive at the minute. I'm looking at the availability for 26th Dec eve right now & there are masses of cheaper seats available, as there usually are at TCAABR. My personal preference is stalls B22, which is £24.25 & which I must have sat in about 60 times by now. You miss nothing of significance & little even of insignificance. |

I think we'll end up going to the Leicster Square ticket booth - first time. I'd be shocked if all the seats went for 9 days time. You could distribute yourselves down the left-hand side of the stalls! That's what I did when I took my mother & aunt a couple of Christmases ago. If you do end up with restricted view then auditorium left is definitely better than right. |

Do not sit in the front row, it is a horror show! Of the stalls? I saw it from there and it was fine? Oh God really? How tall are you? I had a crinked neck and sore knees by the end of it. It felt like I was so close I was almost on the stage. I don't think it helped that I was surrounded by a family who were all about 6'5 and encroached on what little room I had all night. I also felt there was always so much going on on stage it would've been much more enjoyable seeing the whole stage from further back, instead of having to look from side to side all the time to keep up. |

5ft 7. My notes are a low stage and missed nothing. Decent legroom as well. We are talking the Criterion Theatre? And the stage isn't that wide? Odd.
Dawnstar , any thoughts? Stage wasn't high and you're right it's not very wide either from memory. I do distinctly remember having NO legroom what so ever. Maybe I was just in the wrong mood and everything was pissing me off lol I am usually a front row person though (I even always get them for Hamilton and that stage is HIGH!) and I normally am fine with it, but this one really annoyed me! |

I've only sat front row at the Criterion a couple of times, because it's £15 more for only being about 3 feet nearer the stage than my favourite B22, but from what I recall the only issue I had was having to look up sharply for the vents scene, which was rather neck ache inducing but it's only for a short time.

I always sit front row at the Criterion for this - and always have had plenty of legroom - and I'm 6 foot. Yes you have to crane your neck to see the vent scene, but other than that, it's a great seat IMO.

I think Chris Leask may have set an emergency covering record this weekend. Last night he was at PPGW covering Trevor then today he's at TCAABR covering Freeboys! (Missed the former bu one performance, annoyingly, but caught the latter this afternoon.)

I doubt anyone other than me will care about this but this afternoon when I saw Ross Virgo as Freeboys I finally managed to fulfil the ambition I've had since the show opened to see the same actor as all Three Boys, i.e. Sam, Cooper & Freeboys. Ross is (I think) the first understudy to cover all three but he's 2nd cover for all of them so harder to manage to see. He's much better suited to Sam & Cooper than to Freeboys, which is certainly not his natural casting bracket, but still acted the latter very well.

Oh, goodness, I don't think I can choose. Not least because I go to see understudies so apart from the first couple of months of the original cast I've usually only seen each cast in full in the first week of their run then again at cast change! The original cast were special because they were the originals and I got to see them in the act of refining the show over the first few months which was fascinating (for instance there was one short scene I got to see that was only tried-out at a single performance before being dropped & conversely there's a line in the first edition of the script that I never heard delivered onstage!). However all the subsequent casts have also been really good & there have been very few performers who I have thought were less than extremely good in their roles (and in those few cases it wasn't that they didn't give good performances, just that I found they didn't fit how I personally saw the characters). I've also seen a lot of terrific performances by many very hard-working understudies, a number of whom then went on to take over roles full-time. I'm not going to start mentioning names of favourites because if I do it'll be a very long list & also biased because I've been very fortunate in how nice and friendly many cast members have been to me at the stage door. |
