Can't speak highly enough about this production. So GOOD to have the vitality of live theatre again! If you can get a ticket, please do. It's worth it on many levels.

She is just extradinary. I couldn't take my eyes off her and he is her perfect foil. Absolutely as strong as her but let's her shine absolutely. A bit like a perfact dance couple. An unbelievable working relationship. Special. I hope to see them on stage together again. |

I'm somehow so glad to hear this was good. I find it such an interesting experiment, and am admittedly a bit torn about not getting a ticket.
I've seen it live when it was still on stage, and thought they were both fantastic, and it's kind of lovely to hear that that came across perfectly fine online as well.
Who knows, maybe there will be more similar events in the coming months.

Watched from my sofa last night! Very unusual experience. Seeing expressions on their faces certainly added to the previous viewing - seeing the production in October a bit far back from the Circle. I agree they are perfect together, the writing is so spontaneous and honest, it’s refreshing. The only thing this renewed production lacks is a bit of human touch.. made me sad again thinking of this gap existing.. when you can’t hold a hand of the person you love.

Have been checking regularly over the last few weeks for a £20 ticket and over the past few days they were consistently available so something changed.
Finally booked for tomorrow night’s performance even though the novelty of Theatre on TV has worn off and rarely watch them now.

lynette I did which was one of the reasons I was reticent. Looking back in the thread, my thoughts weren’t particularly glowing, in fact quite scathing which is most probably why I wasn’t that interested in paying more than £20, at least I am supporting the Theatre by giving it a second chance and can always bail without disturbing anyone.

I think that additional tickets have been released as they have met their capacity for the theatre and there is the means to create additional supply to meet demand at an accessible price. Why restrict the zoom experience if they can make more money? I feel that £20-£30 is a suitable price for what I saw; I think £65 is a little steep, but if they are able to sell all the seats then good luck to them because they need the money.

Very happy at getting a £20 ticket for the Sat matinee just now. Should be an interesting experience as it will be my first time using the ZOOM app on my IPad so at least I can connect it up to my tv.

I have a ticket for this afternoon's matinee but can't for the life of me figure out how to mirror it to my TV. I've got a macbook and a Samsung smart TV, albeit a few years old now. Can anyone help at all? Sorry if this is the wrong place for this query. Thank youx

My housemate and I watched the first performance and also had quality issues. We used a chromecast to watch on the TV. The audio didn't work (not sure the cause of this) so we had to use a bluetooth speaker and the image quality was poor. There was also a lag between the image and the sound which wasn't due to the speaker or our set up as the same lag was present direct from zoom on the iPad. I do remember thinking that anyone older or not very tech savvy would really struggle. Notwithstanding those issues though I really enjoyed seeing something new and live. It was the perfect play for this kind of format. Only two characters, no reliance on a set, fast moving dialogue and plot etc. It was very sad seeing the empty inside of the Old Vic though. Good for them trying something new. I feel £20 was about right for taking part in a kind of experiment and not being sure what you're going to get. Anything more is really a donation rather than paying for the production. |

It was really nice watching a piece of live theatre this afternoon, even if it was from my living room. As a way of delivering a live performance, I thought it worked really well and thankfully the IT gremlins managed to stay away for the 90 minutes. For the £20 I paid, I certainly felt I got my money's worth. I did have a smile pre show with the
PSA of how long before the performance would start.
Of the performances, Claire Foy's one was for me the most engaging and despite the lack of contact between her and Matt for obvious reasons, I didn't feel this really had any negative impact in conveying their relationship over the different time periods.
Looking forward, depending on what announcements are made in the next week or so regarding the reopening of theatres, I wouldn't be averse to seeing other productions staged in a similar format.

This seems surprisingly easy so far, none of the issues the Kitson one had (Windows 10 and HDMI to big screen!).
The chat messages to tell you to get rid of the chat messages are quite annoying!

lynette , the Apple propriety method for transmitting video and music from your iPhone /iPad / Mac to your TV. The only option was mirroring which is of poorer quality and quite often the sound is out of sync. Likely to have switched off anyway as the couples overwhelming middle class pretentious entitlement was just as I remembered it, dinner party politics at it’s worst, all it was missing an act about mortgages and house prices. At least next week’s is about music and my £20 will have supported this being available for free and as it will hopefully be available on YouTube watching it on my TV will not be an issue.

Well, I thought it was crackingly good - I had not watched The Crown and was not familiar with Ms. Foy. We had four people huddled around the laptop - and thoroughly enjoyed it and spoke about it for a good while afterwards. We know people very much like the couple. My eldest said that the play should have been titled "Good People" because that's what those two were most concerned about.

Really enjoyed it.
Took a couple of minutes to adjust to how they were presenting it with the split screens but as soon as they sat back to back it all clicked.
Didn't see it during the earlier run - did it have the same pace and scene transitions or was it a little more leisurely?
