Hey guys! I'm trying to find a comedy straight play with 6-10 significant roles. Because it will be performed in a small/limited theatre setting, it really cannot be too set or costume dependent. Preferably something well written that is easy to laugh at. ^in the past Clue (the play) has worked really well for this so something a similar style to that would be great. Thanks for any and all suggestions

Welcome to the Board rkane . How about Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones. Six characters, all with reasonable stage time. One set - a garden. It's difficult to tell what you like from the play you mention. But others to maybe check out if you don't mind some that might seem dated:- Season's Greetings, Alan Ayckbourn. 9 reasonably substantial characters. One set - a living/dining room. Funny Money, Ray Cooney. 7 characters. One set - living room. The Liver Birds, Carla Lane and John Chapman. 9 characters. One set - living room. Are You Being Served, Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft. 9 substantial characters plus 4 minor ones that can use the same 2 actors. One set - shop floor. Murdered to Death, Peter Gordon. 10 characters. One set - lounge of a manor house. And it might be worth checking out the Farndale Avenue series by David McGillivray and Walter Zerdin Jr. Set in a church hall - so no set at all really. Good luck.

Kaufman/Moss Hart plays as well.
