A 2020 'original' tour was mentioned here in the Predictions thread, so top marks to that person.
The phrase "featuring original Maria Bjornson designs" implies this isn't the original production verbatim., which strikes the fear of god into me, but happy to read it'll be visiting Manchester soon!

I bloody hope so. They did the fall back at the end of the 90s so cant see a reason why they wouldn't now, other than budget. Liverpool Empire still has the holes that they had to cut to in the roof specially to accommodate the flying steels for the chandelier. |

Running 26th March - 30th May at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
So, in May 2020, there'll be West Side Story at the Royal Exchange, Les Mis at The Lowry, Phantom at the Palace, and Back to the Future at the Opera House! Not too shabby.
Wonder if Hope Mill have something equally spectacular to add to the mix?!

This is probably the Asia tour just heading West by the time it concludes its current scheduled runs. The current cast is truly international, but I would think it'll have a UK cast by the time it hits the UK. I wouldn't be surprised if its current Phantom sticks around. The tour Christine is pretty fantastic too. A legit opera singer whose done the US tour of Love Never Dies. Though it's the original design there are some scaled back elements.

With Phantom and WSS both playing in Manchester at the same time I’m certainly considering a Manchester theatre weekend. A double show day on Saturday and hopefully a visit to the Hope Mill for a Sunday matinee if their programming ties in 🤞.

A double show day on Saturday and hopefully a visit to the Hope Mill for a Sunday matinee if their programming ties in 🤞. Possibly a suitable occasion for a TheatreBoard North shindig? |
