Not sure why if you put @ Admin it defaulted to BurlyBear, edited afterwards to add Admin Team as didn’t want to offend by omission. Thanks for the update, shouldn’t have forgotten my Welsh roots in the beginning, can only conclude I have become a London centrist Theatre goer.

Thanks - just booked for it. Great cast (the young actor was excellent in Killology there a couple of years ago)

It’s because I’m the root admin for the forum so my registered user name is admin, but Burlybear is my display name. Anyone wanting to tag me has to use @ admin, and the software then converts that to what people see me as in the forum. Anyone can choose a different display name, it’s in the Edit Profile screen.

Sorry this was for On Bear Ridge, Administrators please delete or move to the Royal Court 2019 thread
Just received an e-mail stating:
‘I am writing to let you know that we will be adding an extra row into the auditorium, Stalls BB, which will be directly in front of our standard seating layout. This will mean that your seats in row A will now be in the second row from the stage, rather than the first’
Offered a change to the new front row but will stay in my original seat, may be worth a look if you are interested in getting a front/second row seat when they are released.

I saw it last night and was truly moved. It's one of these plays where nothing is happening and yet, so much is happening. It is a play about loss - in a very wide sense. Not just losing those we love but also our places, our language, our identity. I found it very moving but it doesn't make you cry buckets, it just stays with you.
The cast is brilliant, that's all I can say. They're all marvellous. (And Rhys Ifans gave me a hug at the Royal Court bar. Not to brag but.)

It is a play about loss but it lost me in the process. The stasis reminded me of Beckett's "Endgame" but this does not have Beckett's economy, it is quite logorrheic and the characters are not engaging enough for their loss to matter much.

I found this to be a colossal bore. It's a formulaic Court play with some sole survivors of totalitarian dystopian society who cling to their past for fear that if they disappear it will too will vanish. Blah blah blah. I sat there wondering many things but mostly what are the actors thinking when they are rehearsing such drivel. I thought I'd sworn off the Royal Court but the prospect of Rhys Ifans and Jason Hughes sucked me in. Even the design was formulaic and the sound effects were of the University level of creativity. Bleah.

After the first quarter hour or so of concentrating hard on what characters on stage had to say, and never really understanding who they were or what they wanted, I'd slept through so much of this that I didn't know whether it was good or bad.
Initially I was angry when the hearty applause at the end woke me up and I realised I'd missed so much of the play, but really it was irritation with myself for spending money and having nothing to show for it. At least I had the play text though, not that I've got around to doing anymore than just glance at the cover ever since.
