I originally put Lion King due to my own personal dislike, but then I realised that would probably mean another empty theatre with sporadic runs due to the size of the Lyceum. I've gone for a show I really love - Mamma Mia! I think its had its time, and I'd love to see the Novello going back to hosting some larger plays or mid sized musicals.

I put Wicked,mainly because its the only one of those shows I've seen and lets just say I wasn't impressed.

I'm personally not a Lion King fan but how many musicals in the West End are great to take young children to? There's not that many.

I’d happily lose any of the long running musicals (and I mean ANY). I take the point that a lot of the Theatres would struggle though.

I put ‘Matilda’ cos the Cambridge is the perfect theatre for pretty much everything that I want to come to the WE.

Phantom. It was the first musical I saw back in 1991 and I thought it was magical. Saw it again in 2007 and thought it looked incredibly dated then, so goodness knows what it's like now.

Phantom for me too. Not a big ALW fan and Phantom is definitely my least favourite.

It’s a toughie but I’d go for Mamma Mia! although Matilda is a close second. Both theatres they’re in would be able to house a number of new shows perfectly.
Not on the list but School of Rock I reckon will close in the near future

From the list I voted Matilda - nothing wrong with it per se, it just isn't a show that I have any inclination to repeat view.
The one I would actually choose to close (apart from Thriller obviously) isn't on the list - School of Rock.

But they'd probably use it as an excuse to leave the theatre dark for 6months and then reopen with Mamma Mia 2!

The Lion King, for purely selfish reasons. I would like to visit all the West End theatres before I die but I clearly have VERY little interest in The Lion King otherwise I'd've ticked the Lyceum off by now. Putting something new in there might be the impetus that I need, like the closure of We Will Rock You and Stomp finally opened the possibility of me ever visiting the Dominion or the Ambassadors.
