I clearly need to stop moaning about tours not coming to Brighton as I thought I'd have to go to Southampton for this but just seen it's coming to Brightom after all!
I've booked a cheap seat. Well pleased, this has been on my list as one to watch for ages!

I was thinking of trying to see this, as I've not seen it before & the word of mouth was very good for the previous run of the production. However I've just listened to the video & I don't think it's going to work for me, as while I was listening to the actual lyrics I had the Forbidden Broadway version running in parallel through my mind! It was one of my favourite FB spoofs, despite not having seen the original (see also The Lion King).

JustFran I was just going to share the link as I’ve just seen it aswell. Getting more excited as the days go by and I’m thinking of all the cities in the UK I haven’t been to so I can coincide a bit of sightseeing with seeing the show again! All of the cast were amazing before at Ipswich and Hornchurch, not just Dan and Emma. Check out interview with Emma by Martin Ballard on BBC Radio Leicester today, about 12.16 minutes in.

I might try see this when it comes to Edinburgh. They are doing £13 tickets in the front row which look to be a good deal, and it’s a show that’s been on my radar for a while.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get to London from Bath after the evening show? Trains times can of course change for either planned or emergency engineering, but there are trains from Bath Spa to London Paddington at 22:13 and 22:53 on Monday to Friday, 22:10 and 22:55 on Saturday. |

Be very careful of the pillars in the circle, they get in the way of quite a few seats. I wouldn’t say there’s a bad seat in the stalls. Train station is only 5-7 minute walk from the theatre, so definitely achievable to catch the show and get the train back to London. |

Last week marked 6 years since I saw this musical for the first time. And it still stays my most precious and important one in my life. (well, maybe sharing the pedestal with Hamilton) |

Oh gosh. This one of of the most boring, disappointing, uneventful musicals I've ever seen. Didn't get it at all. Truly couldn't agree more! The story was totally unrealistic. The score is dull as you like. It's basically all reprises of the same song. And this production of the show is tacky. No expense spent on the set. Smallest set I've probably ever seen. 99% of the show happens front and centre with no movement. And a really, really cheesy clip art scene projection. Peter Rowe's direction is bad. It was one of the worst things I saw last year. |

I know it is kinda not a nice thing to say. And that tastes differ.
But for me Once has always been a bit of an "IQ test" of some sort. Like, you need to have a certain background, to live through certain experiences to see the story and not the "cheap set".
It is subtle. Delicate. Obviously not everyone's cup of tea but I kinda noticed that people who get it, who feel it, who understand its subtlety - they are my people.

WARNING: Fairfield Hall cancelled the 24th December matinee and didn't tell me. I found out by accident and was able to re-book another date. If you have tickets for any performance, check the date is still happening, in case others have also been cancelled. Looks like they have cancelled 2 of my 3 shows booked. And the words I want to shout right now won't go through the forum's filters. AS I CANT MAKE IT ANY OTHER DATES. |

Does anyone have any seating guidance for Fairfield Halls?
I noticed quite a few offers going around for this this week (£18 last couple of rows of the front stalls section on TodayTix for example) and thought I’d check the Fairfield Halls website to see what the face value of these seats are. I noticed that the front 3 rows of the front stalls are all now £15 (I was sure it was only the outer seats of the front row that were £15 previously). Can’t tell if they’ve added these extra rows in last minute and priced them like that just to make sure they’re sold, or if they’re cheaper because the view is going to be dreadful (they aren’t listed as restricted view). Seems weird that these front stalls seats are so cheap and the seats in the back row are £43.50

Definitely was only left and front areas of stalls priced £15 when I booked Once at Croydon I remember becauseI purchaed two lots of two seats instead of four together because of this. However for Buddy all of the front row carried a £15 price and there was nothing negative about sitting there.

Another annoyance of them adding extra rows. I booked the front row for tonight soon after this went on sale, now I'm a few rows back and all the rows in front are sold. Not much can be done I suspect.

I presume rows A and B will still be in place as usual, just without any seats sold for them (can't imagine they will have extended the stage or be using an orchestra pit). That's what happened with Angela's Ashes. No idea what the logic is of having the audience sitting further back.
