Imagine if this is actually superb. Oh I DO hope SO! We don’t want another Stephen Ward!

I'm booked in to see this twice - once on the twirly seats and once on the bog standard seats. No idea why, other than I'm curious and I believe in ALW's talent.

Ahh I loved this new song! CHF has a lovely voice, such a nice tone. I’m tempted to book a ticket to Cinderella but I might wait and see what’s happening with shows first. I guess it could always get moved if it gets cancelled. I dunno, I’ve not booked anything for so long until recently I don’t know what happens if it gets cancelled if you can keep your seat for the rearranged show for example.

So of all the songs released, this was the one I was eager to hear after last year's simple ALW piano/Carrie singing at Her Majesty's - and it didn't disappoint. The full orchestrations not overpowering but adding even more color to what was a beautiful song. Can imagine a reprise/orchestral sweep of that as well.
I've enjoyed the releases and listening to all four in a row today, I'm eager for the full recording.

I do question ALW's creative urges sometimes and he always gets excited about everything. Sometimes I wish he'd just refresh and revive some of his older works. Starlight could be amazing with the tech that is around today. Surround sound and video walls around an arena setting. Could be brilliant!

Loved Woman in White and it is pure Lloyd Webber. Cinderella seems to be from his "I want to be hip and relevant"-phase and Cats and Starlight -changes show how that usually turns out...

What do you think ALW will do/should do if June 21st gets put back by a couple of weeks as seems to be under consideration at the moment? Cancel previews and defer the opening? Go ahead with previews at reduced capacity? I think we can discount him going ahead despite government advice because despite all the bravado about suing the government that would presumably be breaking the law and I doubt they’d do that.

I think they’d have to distance it because of all the build up, and leave folks disappointed and having to rebook.

The complexity of that though. They’d have to go through all of the bookings and re-plan them individually. Any single bookings would be first to get bumped off I’m sure, followed by a lot of doubles.

Yep! I just don’t think he’d reschedule again though.

I think they've been rehearsing for over a month as well — at some point they're going to want to just get on and do it.

He's not going to be a happy bunny, that's for sure. I thought all along that it was a provocative (and chancy) move to sell all seats - if opening is delayed again, he will tear into the government for not being able to organise a proverbial in a brewery, and for BJ ruining the creative industries by his actions - or inaction. I suspect ALW will just have to postpone opening once again - but cue letters to the papers, signed by a lot of the producers.

There's a lengthy new interview with ALW on The Telegraph website where he says "If you want to stop theatre, you'll have to arrest us" and Cinderella will open on 25 June "come hell or high water". I have sympathy with the position he finds himself in, but I'm not sure effectively saying he intends to open the production regardless of potential Government legislation/guidance or scientific advice is the best way to reassure audiences that theatres without social distancing are safe places to be!

Who gets arrested exactly?! The theatre manager, FoH, the audience?
Kinda wish I had tickets for the first preview!!

He should be arrested purely for the dreadful music for this show. The latest release is ANOTHER snoozefest.
Unless I hear incredible things about this once it starts previewing, im not sure I can be bothered to lose 2.5 hours of my life watching it.

I'm going on the 25th June.
I was already planning to take my riot gear with me. It's likely to get rough with everyone rushing to leave at the interval.

Good on him I say! There is absolutely no evidence to prove that mass gatherings increases transmission. The trials proved the opposite - they are safe. Someone has to stand up to the government's mad and unscientific policies. Sacha Lord and Hugh Osmond have done a fantastic job for the hospitality industry. I'm glad to see someone is finally speaking up for the arts industry, rather than just going along with any and all government measures. The government should have to prove that something is NOT safe in order to close businesses, rather than businesses have to prove they ARE safe and then still be shut down with ridiculous measures.

Regardless of whether the government is right or wrong it’s not for the hugely privileged ALW to take it upon himself to disregard the law and to instruct the company and theatre staff to join him in that disobedience. He’s not some sort of crusader for theatre, he’s just coming across as a bit of an arse.

It’s a bit hard to have too much sympathy for how hard this is for him, when he jumps in his “chauffeur driven taxi from the Gillian Lynne , to the Lane” … literally 1 minute away from each other 🤣

It's also frustrating for the industry as a whole because he will be taken as 'the voice of theatre' and we will all be tarnished with the same brush, when a lot of us actually think he's acting like a loon.

Putting an intimate show like that in a barn of a theatre didn’t help either....

WOMAN IN WHITE in Charring Cross was MUCH better without the Microsoft works 2003 digital set. Ha... On another note ALW should be ARRESTED and locked up if he breaks the law.
