I've realised I've seen at least four Cinderella ballets and I'm confusing them all (and probably mixing a pantomime or two in as well!).
One ENB one with a lot of clocks (pre-2011 I think), one that was Russian-ish but no idea of the company (gorgeous brocade-looking costumes and a sleigh) maybe around 2014, and Scottish Ballet's one with the insects pulling the carriage (2017/8?), and the Matthew Bourne one set around WW2 (2019?). I'm going to have to go and look through all my programmes!

I think people are just impatient for concrete news of anything.

So who’s the random ‘beauty and the beast extra’ bloke on CHFs Instagram story rambling on about his buns? Is he one of the Cinderella cast?

The video on Carrie's Instagram was tweeted yesterday by the ALW Cinderella account, and then deleted.
It didn't give his name though, just talked about seeing his lovely buns soon or something.

Yes I saw this too. Was Tweeted (briefly) by the official account so maybe he's in it? Some guy with a tray singing about his buns - sounded a bit like a line from Oliver but not sure if the musical snippet was from the show.

@mm, you are actually Andrew Lloyd Webber and I claim my £5.🙂 Your Moulin Rouge suggestion was just to throw us off the scent.

I just remembered I actually sent a screenshot of the tweet to my sister. It said:
Perhaps they took it down because it sounded a bit "Cinderella meets the Chippendales"?

Or derivative of Who Will Buy? or the opening of Beauty and The Beast? The costume was very panto fairytale? Wonder if the whole thing is traditionally costumed along with story? Or will it be modern clumpy Docs goth Ella gets hit on the bonce by a flying stale bun and she wakes up in medieval Belleville. Everyone sings regretful ballads (with Year 6 rhyming lyrics but gorgeous orchestrations) and she raps a bit about how ‘bad’ she is before regaining consciousness along with the audience 😉 The marketing for this show is a strange one that’s for sure. I know they’re trying to keep the plot ‘twist’ secret but the various videos they’ve released are just so random. The hot buns video was all a bit fnar fnar ooo-er missus. Hence me thinking of panto. Maybe they just took it down because it was a bit rubbish.

I know from the video what was posted on the first day of rehearsals there is a wooden market stall.

Even the name of the village Belleville makes me think of Beauty and the Beast. This could be deliberate of course and Emerald and Andrew’s attempt at Disney pastiche before launching into their ‘updated and new, like nothing we’ve ever seen before’ version of Cinderella.
Please God no. Don’t let this be Emerald and Andrew’s attempt at Disney pastiche...

And this is a relatively new marketing gimmick.

She makes Phoebe Waller Bridge sound like someone off the market in Eastenders. It all sounds ghastly. I hope at least there are some ‘pneumatic’ chorus boys to look at.

So it’s some sort of nightmarish Duloc style fairytale town where anything imperfect has to be dealt with including “bad” Cinderella who wears black tops and stomps around in her bovver boots fancying other girls or giggling in corners with her gay mate. Got it.

I know it's lockdown and we're bored, but nobody could deny this show has got us talking!
Though am now having nightmares about it being set in the Theatre Cafe on Saturday lunchtime.

I'm not sure down with the kids is necessary for Cinderella. She's did some good writing for Killing Eve and is up for an Oscar so I'm happy to give her the benefit of the doubt.
I also enjoyed her in Call the Midwife.
